The Story

PREMISE:

Have you ever wanted to shop with an Interior Designer? Have you ever been interested in knowing where designers shop? Or, perhaps you’re one of the many that’s always wondering how you can have access to some of the most amazing home décor pieces designers bring back directly from market. Or, even the local pieces designers sell and carry from other local artists. You know, the gorgeous pieces we see plastered all over their beautifully curated social media feeds.  

But you don’t want to just see it on their feeds. You want the inside info. You want in on the action…where do I go and how do I get it?

 

                                                                   

SHOW OVERVIEW & SYNOPSIS:

Boutique Shopping Saturdays With Allured By Design is a limited web series where Tachic Hickman-Piazza, Host and Founder of Home & Lifestyle brand, Allured By Design®, will answer all of the above questions by taking her viewers on a shopping excursion. This will be a visual shopping experience that picks up where all of the home building, renovating, real estate selling and DIY shows leave off.

More on the lines of...So you’ve got the house and you’re ready to style it. But before you can style it, you need to know where to shop. Tachic will show you the best of the best places to shop and beautify your homes with exclusive, custom and special order pieces from some of her favorite local New Orleans based boutiques.

The format and style of Boutique Shopping Saturdays With Allured By Design can easily be compared to Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on Food Network. Only this series ditches the appeal of food for all things DESIGN!!!

 

 

MEET THE HOST:
Tachic Hickman-Piazza is a multi-hyphenate creative working in two varying creative fields of film and design. In 2016, Tachic sought to pair her film experience with her love and passion for beautiful interiors by launching her own creative platform, Allured By Design®.

As the Founder and Chief Creative Director + Designer of Allured By Design®, Tachic utilizes her own home as her main portfolio sharing a wealth of seasonal looks, design tips and trends, room reveals, shopping and product sources, brand campaign collaborations, etc...through high quality photo and video content she both creative directs and produces for her brand. This is all with the intent to inspire and encourage her audience and social media family to take pride into designing and styling their own homes and the lives they truly desire to live. With a platform that continues to evolve and grow daily, in 2021, Tachic was listed by Hello Beautiful as one of five Black Interior Designers to follow on social media.

INSPIRATION:
The inspiration for Boutique Shopping Saturdays With Allured By Design comes on the heels of Tachic actually engaging with her social media followers via her Instagram platform in this exact way. As a born and raised New Orleanian, now living on the Northshore side of the greater metropolitan area of the city...Tachic has always prided herself on shopping small and local. Giving her dollar to and patronizing local businesses that not only speak to her design aesthetic but also make her feel warm and welcome with each and every visit.
 
While many social media Design Influencers focus their attention on the larger big box retailers or the convenience of online shopping, Tachic’s expertise lies in sharing and discovering special unique pieces that can only be found in smaller, local design shops and boutiques.
 
As both a Creative and a Designer, Tachic truly loves and appreciates authenticity. In addition, she has a very keen eye for what looks good and how to create looks that feel more unique and custom and not mass-produced. And, so much of that is attributed into where she shops and whom she shops with.

 

 

IN THE WORDS OF OUR HOST...
“I'm one of the very few Design Influencers that don't believe in shopping or promoting big online mass giants like Amazon. Mainly because it completely goes against my belief of having and building a direct relationship with smaller design stores and boutiques, or brick and mortar furniture dealers that afford a one of a kind, select shopping experience that you simply can't get from online shopping. I personally don't ever want to live in a world where I'm not able to physically go into a store, or a boutique or a showroom floor and touch, hear, feel, smell and see the beauty of textures and unique design. The power of design affects all five of my senses simultaneously and it's one of the most exhilarating experiences ever. I don't ever want to be robbed of that experience and it's one of the main reasons I'm such a huge advocate of "influencing" my audience to spend more time in their local design stores. Most importantly, supporting local stores helps to grow local economies.

 

 

FORMAT:
Each episode will highlight the beauty and details of local design boutiques and their showroom floors, showing viewers a glimpse of some of their most popular items, sharing premier sneak peeks on upcoming products, design trends of the season, the popular color of the year, interviewing the owners and staff of that particular store...And most importantly, sharing the fun experience of what shopping locally is all about.

 

 

GOALS & STAKES:
Although Boutique Shopping Saturdays With Allured By Design will begin and take place in the beautiful and historic city of New Orleans, the ultimate goal for the show is to become a global franchise. The power and potential of this series far surpasses the city limits of New Orleans and its “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler” culture.
 
Tachic’s true desire is to take her viewers on a shopping excursion all across North America and beyond, searching for the best local design stores and boutiques in every major city, with special edition episodes filming and taking place in Europe, Africa and other continents and in major countries like Italy, France, Greece, Scotland, England, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, etc.…
 
When it comes to shopping and discovering the best of the best decorative pieces, furnishings, and artwork for one’s home all across the globe, there is no limit to where we can go.

 

 

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: 
Because of the ongoing global pandemic, as both a society and as a world we all are affected. Every business has had to adapt to protocols to keep their team safe and healthy. The Film & Entertainment Industry is no different at going above and beyond to keep Cast & Crew safe by following all CDC, federal and local government, and Filmmaking mandated rules and guidelines.

Below is a brief summary of what Boutique Shopping Saturdays With Allured By Design will be implementing into our daily shooting schedule for the health and wellfare of our cast, crew and all boutiques we film in.

All hired crew must test 48Hours before start date of filming and must show proof of a negative test. With the exception to the host and cast (boutique owners and staff) being interviewed only when camera is rolling...Masks must be worn at all times during prepping, set-up, filming and interaction with other crew, boutique personnel and staff. PPE equipment will be provided on set, including masks, shields, hand sanitizer, etc...

In addiiton, our Covid-19 protocols and guidelines for a healthy set will be guided by our Personnel Team consisting of a RN, LPN and an Administrator/PA all alternatating days they will provide assistance on set.

MEET THE HOST:

Born and raised in the great city of New Orleans, Tachic Hickman-Piazza is a forever proud New Orleanian and it's been one of her life desires to always highlight the very best of her city's culture in everything that she does. Most especially through her creative content or any creative medium she produces.

 

Tachic is a multi-hyphenate creative working in two varying creative fields of film and design. In her film career, she’s serves as a Production and Travel Coordinator in the scripted world of television and film, managing and overseeing the day to day logistics for her cast and crew, coordinating their schedules, travel logistics and accommodations. She’s directly responsible for negotiating rates and deals with hotel, rental car, car service and airline vendors, which are all a necessary and most pertinent part of the filmmaking process.

 

In the non-scripted world of reality television, she serves as an Associate Producer handling and managing all of her Producer responsibilities directly related to her cast and the ever-evolving needs of a show. Those needs include but are not limited to securing shooting locations, aiding with building and developing cast storylines, scheduling cast scenes and interviews, managing and securing agreements, contracts and so much more.

 

A graduate of Full Sail University in Winterpark, Florida with an Associate of Science Degree in Film & Video, Tachic’s film career spans over the course of eighteen years. As a freelance filmmaker she’s lived and worked in both New York and Los Angeles and also worked for some of the most reputable studios and networks in the entertainment industry including DISNEY, WALDEN MEDIA, 20th CENTURY FOX, OWN, WARNER BROS./TIME WARNER, HBO, SONY, BRAVO, E! NETWORKS, TLC, COMEDY CENTRAL, THE HISTORY CHANNEL, BET, VH1, MTV, CBS, NBC, and so many others.

 

In 2016, Tachic sought to pair her film experience with her love and passion for beautiful interiors by launching her own creative platform, Allured By Design.
