The Story
Connor looks like any other average guy, but he's got a deep secret. As the son of an infamous A-list movie star, he was involved in an incident that left the world remembering him with a nickname that won't go away: Bucket Baby. 
Connor's secret comes to light when his father crashes his fundraiser to save the one thing Connor loves most: his struggling community theatre. But his father has his own agenda: steal investors to fund his long-gestating magnum opus, which he calls The Next Great American Movie. This sparks a desperate mission with all the touches of a Hollywood scandal: a heist, entangling with an eccentric agent to the stars, recruiting a tabloid photographer, and infiltrating a celebrity mansion, all in the name of saving the theatre and sabotaging the greatest film never made.
In April 2001, we began our filmmaking careers at the unseasoned ages of 7 and 9. 
We are Kevin and Kyle (twins), and Layne (best friend). The first time we grabbed a camcorder and made our inaugural movie, though it was a commercial and critical failure, we were hooked. Each time we picked up that camera, our quality improved, our storytelling turned a page, and our passion grew. As the years went on, we attended film school together, and went from making backyard videos to multiple award winning short films. Kevin 
wrote and directed his first ever feature film, the indie darling Losers of Eden. Now fully seasoned, for the first time we have co-written and will be producing a feature film script, and we put everything that matters to us into it.
Our writers' room began with each of us throwing out our favorite ideas for what we thought should be in a film. After collaborating on major characters, set pieces, and themes, something emerged: a story revolving around the things that 
capture our hearts. We found ourselves crafting a film that uplifts the voices of the film and theatre community. As writers, directors, producers, backstage tech crew - we have the ability to tell a story that celebrates everyone in and out of the spotlight.
As Hollywood continues to make cookie-cutter movies you've seen before, we're here to shake things up. We've written something unique, something the corporate studios won't risk. 
Something that combines all of our inspirations and passions and senses of humor, resulting in a screenplay that feels classic, yet brand new. Over the last year of developing this story, we've gotten feedback from industry insiders and casual movie-goers, and early readers of our script have been clear: this is a knockout that must be seen.

We will step into the world of Bucket Baby when we begin principal photography in August. Post-production will take us into early 2027, which will see our premiere and festival run later that year. Backers who support at the "Movie Ticket" level or higher will receive their copy of Bucket Baby immediately following the premiere.

About This Team
Kevin Briot is the writer and director behind the multi-award winning indie hit Losers of Eden. His collaborative nature brings out the best in his actors, his directing, and his movies.
Layne Thomas is an award-winning filmmaker and composer. His passion for film and music has given him over 15 years of experience scoring and editing projects ranging from shorts, web series and music videos, to feature-length films.
Kyle Briot has held a variety of roles on films from writer, director and producer, to actor, boom operator and more. He is known for his witty writing and an eye for detail. Kyle's short films have garnered numerous awards.
