The Story
During their cross-country road trip, Nick and Ava receive an unexpected invitation from an old college friend, Michelle, to stay at her luxurious estate. After a lovely dinner and an explosive morning, they are gifted a seemingly harmless parting gift that goes against their better judgment. As the road ahead twists and turns, the couple is tested by the weight of their decisions. The fallout ultimately leads them to unsettling revelations.
AVA: Nick’s girlfriend, late 20s, Asian American. She is independent and more grounded than Nick. Her views on guns become a significant part of the story
NICK: A young, easygoing man in his late 20s, Latin American, who is adventurous but somewhat naïve. Nick is supportive but often finds himself in awkward situations due to his lack of experience with the high-stakes scenarios they encounter.
MICHELLE: An old college friend of Ava’s. Michelle comes off as a warm, welcoming, and eccentric southern gal.
RED: Michelle's father, a seemingly harmless, wealthy, and charismatic Texas ranch owner.
