The Story

In today's Hollywood wasteland, the delusionally ambitious filmmaker Meadow believes she was born to be the Greatest movie director of all time, so when an anonymous benefactor offers her $4 million IF, and only if, she makes a web series…about herself…will Meadow tell a story with a team of friends and finally face her ego OR forever remain a reclusive control freak on an island of herself?
This is a dramedy web series spanning across 10 episodes at 10 minutes a pop! Our tone is goofy, absurd, and surreal. The themes we focus on are Ego, Agency, Vulnerability, and Love!
In October 2025, the capital g great team filmed the first 2 episodes! We are now in Post-Production, putting everything together. When Episodes 1 & 2 perform well at festivals, this will help us grow our audience enough to produce the remaining episodes in the series (Ep. 3-10)!!!

We hope that when you watch capital g great, you laugh. We hope you see yourself in Meadow. Because you want something too. You want something just as badly as Meadow wants to be the next Greatest film director.
Like Meadow, we all have agency in our lives to choose the route we believe is best in the long run. Anyone who loves love, anyone who loves movies, anyone who has a dream can love this story.
Also...A BIG THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO PLEDGED ON OUR PREVIOUS CAMPAIGNS AND SUPPORTED US ON OUR SOCIALS!!! We couldn't have filmed the first two episodes without you!

A major part of capital g great’s storytelling is its cartoonish tone! In Episode 2, Meadow's childhood backstory about why she loves movies is completely told through an animated sequence. We also have hybrid animation where our cartoons interact with the real world. Think Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Scott Pilgrim :)

Another big piece of capital g great's post-production is its visual effects. They bring capital g great to life as the VFX artists create surreal worlds for Meadow to step foot into!

The sound in capital g great is maximalist and cartoonish, so we will be pulling old-timey cartoon sound effects that you will recognize, as well as sound effects from girly, shoujo animes to give it that heightened feel and all-encompassing soundscape.
The color for capital g great is over-the-top. Each scene has a different color look that we are pushing. Anything in Meadow's or Anastasia's room is vibrant and saturated, reminiscent of Old Hollywood CinemaScope. Any shots that showcase potential futures are doused in either green or black & white.
Our score will set the tone for the different scenes. The love between Anastasia and Meadow will be heightened by the operatic, tragic, and melodic music, whereas other scenes (like when Meadow picks up the phone and we are alluding to Scream) will have more horror-like elements. The score is genre-bendy to match the tone shifts in these first two episodes.
At the present moment, there is a serious lack of lesbian representation, let alone trans lesbian representation. And we're here to change that!
The main romance in capital g great is between two young women, played by two trans actresses, Marina Morris and Rafi S. Pérez. The romantic relationship between Meadow and Anastasia is messy, but it’s real.
We believe that people who want to see women loving women on screen will feel seen, especially trans lesbian women and those who love them.

Meadow is a movie fanatic who believes she is Alfred Hitchcock reincarnated. Meadow wants to break into the industry with her feature directorial debut yesterday and go down in the books as a capital g GREAT artist. At her core, Meadow loves to inspire people to follow their dreams, but you shall see if she puts ambition above those who believe in her…

Anastasia is a social butterfly with a tender heart, and she oozes star power. Her dream is to be a leading lady on the silver screen, the one who carries the story, no matter how demanding the role. She knows in her bones it will happen, so she doesn’t rush her journey.

Producer John is a slimy movie producer. He believes film is a business, not an art. He cares about money, return on investment, and more money. All he wants is to slap his name on a movie that'll make him a millionaire. But keep in touch. Maybe you'll write something good next time.
capital g great is perfect for an LGBTQIA+ audience! This community is powerful, engaging, and loyal, which makes them an essential group not to be underestimated.
The trans &/or lesbian communities are eager for nuanced representation of their lives on screen! And that’s exactly what capital g great has in store.
Next! Gen Alpha & Gen Z. capital g great is internet-y and hyper-aware that it is a web series on YouTube. It is meant for people who were raised by the internet.
Last and certainly not least: capital g great is made for our fellow cinephiles and filmmakers. The show is a love letter to cinema and television. It is chock-full of movie allusions, references to TV shows, and esoteric jokes about famous movie makers. Anyone who has ever loved movies or has worked on them will either be curious or hit with a wonderfully terrible sense of relatability.
We believe in a diversity of thought behind the camera.

Since October 2024, our amazing Advertising Team has dedicated their time to creating a following across all social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok. We want our story to reach the people who it will really impact and change their lives!

Currently, capital g great's episodes 1 & 2 are picture locked. After we add animation and VFX, as well as music, sound design, and color, the producers will spend a year submitting episodes 1 & 2 to all of the major film, TV, and web festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, SXSW, SeriesFest, and Series Mania. Once we have received word back from each festival, the first two episodes will be free to watch on YouTube for all to see!
The future of the capital g great series depends on how we perform at festivals and if it reaches our target audience. Our hope is that distributors and producers at these festivals see capital g great and its potential, so we can fund and produce episodes 3-10.
After capital g great lives on YouTube for a year and gains traction, we would love to pitch our series to streamers such as HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Apple TV+ with the intention of licensing the rights with residuals to our above-the-line cast and crew.
Sounds like everyone’s gonna wanna watch our little web series...

Hi! Echo here. I’m directing capital g great :) In February of 2024, I wrote the pilot for this series. And now…it's a little over two years later. Eek! We’ve shot the first two episodes, and our brave editor Jackson Kelley has worked his little booty off day and night, cutting these episodes together.
When I first came up with the idea, I used it as a way to critique myself and my ego. I wanted to teach myself that you don’t have to be this Great artist to tell a story and make an impact. I wanted to showcase a lesbian love story on screen that represented a past love of my life.
And I can say: over the past two years, the preparation, filming, and post-production of these first two episodes have truly taught me these lessons. I want to share that with the world. Teenagers and young adults in their 20s will take something from this, hopefully not work themselves to the bone, and not put too much pressure on themselves after watching.
In order to reach those people, the capital g great team has to raise our finishing funds so that the post-production crew (& that includes: Jackson and Sarah on the editorial team, JP the VFX supervisor, Blake and Alex on the animation team, Jacob the colorist, Sheldon the composer, and Evan and Liv on the sound team) can be paid adequately and put their all into this deeply personal story that I believe will help a lot of young people.
