The Story

Capriccio is a film that gently reminds us that our next profound connection could transpire at any moment, in any place.
Capriccio aspires to bring a sense of delight and inspiration to audiences, inviting them to revel in the sweetness and beauty of love's simple pleasures. In a cinematic landscape where representations of Black love can often gravitate towards the heavy and dramatic, Capriccio showcases the tender connection between its protagonists in a light-hearted and gentle manner. Recognizing the profound impact of art in shaping cultural perceptions, this film seeks to not only uplift spirits but to also contribute to the emergence of more narratives that celebrate the warmth and happiness inherent in Black love. Through unique artistic choices, such as minimal dialogue and unconventional narration, Capriccio aims to break free from conventional molds with a unique portrayal of romance that is seldom seen in contemporary cinema.
In Capriccio, the power of music and dance takes center stage as two strangers serendipitously meet in a cozy bookstore. Instantly drawn to each other, they embark on a captivating journey of non-verbal communication, using the universal languages of melody and movement to forge an enchanting connection. As they navigate the melodies and rhythms that unite them, Capriccio gently reminds us that our next profound connection could transpire at any moment, in any place. As their silent exchange unfolds with a poignant elegance, the film transports the audience on a journey of wonder, romance, introspection, and appreciation for the allure of human connection through chance encounters.

LENA played by Alexis Louder
(Violent Night, Cop Shop, and The Changeling)
Alexis Louder is an actress local to Atlanta that has made many strides in her career, leading two films and a series. She’s really excited to step into the shoes of Lena.
Her favorite musical movie is the Original Lion King. Her Musical Hot Take: Shrek was a musical before it hit the stage. Fight me.
ALVIN played by Israel Vaughan
(Dynasty, Ghosted, The Righteous Gemstones)
Israel is an Atlanta based actor originally from Richmond, VA. His goal as an actor is to show the many beautiful faces of the American black man, the joys and the sorrows of their existence. His TV/Film credits include Ghosted (AppleTV), The Righteous Gemstones (HBO), Being Mary Jane (BET), and Dynasty (The CW). He has also done work in the theater scene in Atlanta in Mother of God (Windmill Arts) and Into the Burrow (Alliance Theater). He's STOKED to bring his passion for musicals to the screen!
His favorite musical movie is Tick Tock Boom (2021). His Musical Hot Take: If Broadway wants to attract new audiences, they need to start allowing virtual ticket sales or at least put clips of the actual show on social media.
EMPLOYEE played by ERIN DANGAR
(Cobra Kai, Judge Me Not)
Erin Bradley Dangar is an Actor and Graphic Designer who enjoys merging those two passions by contributing to short films as Art Director and Production Designer. While Erin is best known for her role as Counselor Blatt on Cobra Kai, she is also an accomplished singer and musician who got her start in musical theater as a child, landing her first professional stage role as Susan in Here's Love, the musical adaptation of A Miracle on 34th Street. Erin's love of music drew her even more to working on Capriccio and she's very excited to be able to bring her multiple creative passions to the production.
Her favorite musical movie is the West Side Story. Her Musical Hot Take: You can't just see Dear Evan Hansen once! I say this because I loved the songs and the set design so much that I went to see it three times when it was in Atlanta! (I haven't seen the movie version yet, which I've heard negative things about, so this statement only pertains to the stage show. ;o)
