"Check, Please!" is about Julie, a French actress working as a waitress in a New York restaurant. It's also about a woman who, like many others, has just moved to New York City to pursue her life's dream and has to find a way to adapt and survive in this wonderful but CRAZY city! #livingmybestlife

Mission Statement

Okay so, Daniel and I met while we were working at "La Raclette," a restaurant famous for its melted cheese. So... He's from Colombia, I'm from France. Oh yeah, SPOILER ALERT! There're a lot of immigrants working in restaurants. So we wanted to show that diversity by creating something funny!

The Story

I Hear an Accent Productions presents

So yeah here's Julie. She's just moved to New York, and she's still in this phase where you're excited to go to Times Square. Trust me, it goes away pretty fast. But she's so happy to be here because her dream is to act in a Broadway show. When she moved from Paris, she told everyone "I will not be a waitress, that's so cliché!"(true story). But you know, life happens...

So here's Julie again, working for the first time ever in a restaurant. A small, chaotic restaurant in New York City called "Le Crêpe Eiffel Restaurant." This restaurant is famous for serving crêpes in the shape of the Eiffel Tower. Wait a minute! Did you just say an EIFFEL TOWER CREPE? OMG! I know, right? Like you, we really want to see that!

And that's where you guys actually come in! Because it's not easy to make an EIFFEL TOWER CREPE! We need a camera to make it look good; a sound person, so you can hear the customers enjoying it; lights to make sure the crêpes shine even in the dark.

Okay, don't worry, it's not just about the crêpes (it's actually really easy to make crêpes, we can even give you a good recipe if you want), but we need some good equipment and a great team to film this web series, because we really want you to ENJOY watching it alone, with some friends, with your lover, on your TV, computer or phone, while you're drinking wine and eating cheese! Okay, maybe this is too French, but who doesn't like CHEESE (except my French husband)?!

So where does your money go exactly? You ask really good questions!

So far we've shot the intro and the pilot episode. But we need to shoot the next two episodes to be able to apply to festivals in the web series category. Our goal is to go on a festival tour with those three epsiodes to attract producers and be able to shoot the rest of the season (10 episodes total). And once we have an entire season, we'll be able to release it on a streaming platform like YouTube, Amazon Prime, Netflix...

We have a wonderful team, ready to go, who is really excited about this project.

As you already know, Julie is French and has just moved to New York City. Like every good aspiring actress, she studied at the "Cours Florent" in Paris. After struggling for a few years in the City of Lights, she thought, "Why not struggle in New York City instead? " So here she is, fresh arrived and ready to go. But, oops, she forgot about something. She needs money! So she's going to try waiting tables, also a good way to practice her English, and work on her accent (always see the positive).

Kat is the waitress who's been serving for way too many years. She's efficient but not friendly. She's smart and very organized. She wanted to become a doctor but dropped out of college because of her ex-boyfriend who wanted to move to New York to become a musician. She regrets that decision every day.

Meet the manager you just wish didn't exist. Nothing against him, but oh well he's the manager.  He's not your friend but can act like it, and all of sudden you just end up with the worst shifts ever. What the f...!

Enzo is a hipster womanizer. He's been bartending for a couple of years. He always wants to quit but needs the money. He's a freelance artist who lives in Bushwick with five other roommates. He probably sells weed to the restaurant staff.

Megan is fresh out of college from North Carolina. She's sweet and naïve. New York is everything she's been dreaming of since she watched Sex & the City. She's all about social media. She has a YouTube channel called "A Southern Belle in the Big Apple".

Jake is the overly nice and annoying perfect server. He comes from a conservative family and has never traveled outside the US. He came from Minnesota to New York because of his passion for musicals. He's currently taking classes at the New York Film Academy, and just got a dog with his boyfriend.

Ever been in linguistic limbo? Well, that's Michael's story. Due to his Spanish heritage, everybody assumes that he speaks Spanish, which he barely does (but he's learning). Fun fact: he's the only one, out of all the staff, actually from New York City. Servers call him Miguel, and the kitchen calls him "Güero." He's just too shy to correct them. A solid and reliable busser, except he is a little bit clumsy. He's about to finish high school and like everybody else, he's still trying to figure out what's next for him.

And just so you can make fun of us, here's the MAKING OF/BLOOPERS of the promo video.

ENJOY !!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH AND STAY TUNED !

About This Team

Marine was born in Marseille, France, and moved to New York four years ago. She loves watching the marathon, walking in Central Park and eating in most restaurants. She hates going to crowdy Times Square, and it drives her crazy when people stand still on escalators (if you don't want to walk, just stay on the right side, Goddammit).

Daniel was born in Bogotá, Colombia and moved to New York five years ago. He loves that New Yorkers mind their own business. He hates how everybody says they want to leave New York to move to California as soon as it starts to get cold and winter is coming.

Eléa was born in Marseille, France, and moved to New York recently. She loves strolling around Brooklyn looking for free stuff that rich people leave on the streets, a good hot chocolate at Der Pioneer and hugging trees in Prospect Park. She wishes the New York subway ran like the Paris métro. She hates pigeons (she didn't know they were international), and she prefers the New York cold to...nothing.

Wilhelm was born in Paris, France, and moved to New York two years ago. He loves the fact that New York is the closest US city from France. He hates the MTA, that's probably why he decided to move to New Jersey and buy a car.

Tessie was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She arrived in New York three months ago (she still likes Times Square), straight from Los Angeles (I guess she didn't fully realize how cold New York can get during the winter). She loves that everything happens all the time, all day long in New York. She hates to be ramdomly asked "Hey, do you want to marry me?"on the street, just because she always has a happy face (only three months in New York, remember).
