Mission Statement

The plot may be out of this world, but the heart of our story is about mental illness & how to recognize the patterns of toxicity in our lives as told through the eyes of a strong, compelling female lead.

The Story

A troubled young woman meets her father for the first time only to be interrupted when a man in the park opens his mouth four feet wide and swallow a 10-year-old whole. This sends them on a wild ride full of interdimensional entities, scary little girls, and crippling insecurities about the future.

It’s got comedy, sci-fi, horror, adventure, and a whole lot of heart.

These additional funds are for digital effects, soundtrack, sound design/editing, color grading, & film festival submissions.

“Chompy & the girls” was put together by a variety of seasoned industry veterans and alumni straight out of film school. The one thing we had in common was we all cared about the project. It’s a good, fun movie with a lot of heart.

The film was shot over 19 crazy days full of huge prosthetic mouths, overnight sets, and lots of (in character) screaming. By the end of it, everyone was exhausted - but we had a movie. And a pretty good movie at that.

Now, we’re trying to get it finished. We’ve shot the film, we’ve edited it - but it’s not done yet. With your help, we can complete the visual effects, sound, and music. Once that’s done, we’re going to film festivals, find a distributor, and ultimately make more movies!

Sarah is also a graduate from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts where she received a B.A in Screenwriting with a minor in Television Production. She's currently an Executive Assistant at SMS Talent, a personal assistant for director Anthony Nardolillo, and a very overworked but passionate individual who can't wait to see what Hollywood will throw at her next as long as it's not another parking ticket.  Chompy & The Girls is her feature-length producing debut.

An LA native, Matt is a self-taught cinematographer with a vision, a lot of expensive equipment, and his eye on the prize. He and his camera make a great team. Their wedding is scheduled for the summer of 2020.

Another Chapman University Alumni, Alan graduated with an MFA in Film Production: Emphasis on Editing. Talented, detail-oriented, and extremely tall, when he's not locked up in a dark room staring at a screen, he enjoys being social with other people in a different room staring at other screens.

Joel is a true master at his craft. With over 15 years of experience including crafting the Kraken at Knotts Scary Farm's "The Depths", he continues to bounce around Southern California as a highly sought-after hair & makeup artist who specializes in special effect makeup.
