The Story
We're creating a community of people who believe in telling stories about funny, interesting, and flawed young women.
Confident is a proof-of-concept short film written by Caitlyn Letterii and Dara Weinstein, following two sisters as they embark on first dates. They go through similar experiencebut react very differently, sometimes in awkward or dare we say- even hilarious- ways. This short film is the first step of a much larger project, the feature film version of Confident, so you are joining this project on the ground floor, with so many exciting steps to come!
The feature screenplay is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, where Austenian gossip, in-fighting, and antics fuel a modern journey of hectic teenage self-discovery, sexuality, and sisterhood in suburban America. This project brings a fresh, funny lens to a classic story—making it radically relatable for a new generation. By blending Austen’s timeless wit with modern teen dynamics, we aim to create a film that’s as emotionally resonant as it is entertaining. At its core, this project champions vulnerability, humor, and human connection in a time when those things feel more important than ever.
We are shooting Confident at the end of August, and can't wait to be on set! We're currently fundraising for the production costs, specifically to pay our incredibly talented crew, to rent camera and sound equipment and to house and feed our cast and crew. About This Team
Dara and Caitlyn are thrilled to be creating their debut short film, Confident. The two met while acting and writing on the sketch comedy team Girl Theory, and have since collaborated on several projects together including a feature film and a musical. Dara is a graduate of the University of Chicago and an actor and writer by trade, while Caitlyn is an alum of Fordham University and a 5th grade teacher by day.
Sohani and Leah founded SourLess Pictures to pursue their shared passion for storytelling and bringing impactful narratives to the screen. Sohani is earning a BFA in Acting/BBA in Digital Marketing at Pace University, with a strong focus on film production. Leah is also at Pace, studying Psychology/Film; her experience with filmmaking began in childhood and continues to inform her academic and creative pursuits.
