With COURT, we intend to create a comedy that is honest in its message. Court is a comedic story about finding confidence within yourself, and with that we hope to create a narrative that is relatable and humble in its underlying message: Always believe in yourself.

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to working with a diverse crew that comes from a number of different backgrounds in order to create a project where the end result is representative of, and relatable to, many individuals, rather than a select few.

The Story

Hello! Thanks for checking out our campaign. I'm sure you may be wondering why we're spending all our time in film school making a movie so let's waste no time getting into...

THE BACKSTORY

Earlier this year, we fundraised for and produced a film called TENNIS, and it had an unexpectedly positive response online.

In all seriousness, a wonderful community on Reddit (/r/me_irl) really took our video and ran with it, eventually leading to us recieving a lot more views than we had expected or anticipated.

(with 30k views, it was about 30k more than we had expected to recieve)
The response was wonderful and heartwarming, but there were many individuals asking if we had plans to expand on the world we had created with TENNIS.

Since then, we have been sending TENNIS off to festivals to endure the wrath of professional film critics. However, after wrapping production entirely, we agreed that it did not feel as if we had fully explored the world we had just created.
Cue COURT, the spiritual prequel to TENNIS that follows Calvin and Chester as Calvin vies for the attention of the newly-moved-in girl next door. It takes place a couple years before TENNIS, when Calvin and Chester are still in high school, and contains characters such as Chester's seventy-five year old neighbor Herb who is a master of karate and piano. This film is being produced as our senior thesis project at Chapman University, and we are thrilled to show you what we have planned.
We are incredibly excited to be making this film and we are even more excited that you get to be involved in the process. Our crew is a diverse group of talented individuals, and we are confident in our ability to create an engaging, comedic short film for your viewing pleasure.
