Cracked Eggs is a feature-length documentary directed by Graham Kolbeins about Linda Sibio, a schizophrenic painter, performer, and educator.

After a traumatic childhood in institutional care and a diagnosis of schizophrenia at 18, Linda chose art as both survival and structure. Over time, she founded Cracked Eggs, a collective and education program that gives people with mental differences a place to create, collaborate, and be seen without stigma.

The documentary moves through memory, performance, and place, following Linda across the Mojave Desert, Los Angeles, New York City, and West Virginia. These locations become emotional landscapes where past and present collide.

At its core, the film is about what happens when people are given space to create instead of being dismissed, managed, or isolated.

Art has the power to save lives—but only if people have access to it.

For more than five years, artist Linda Sibio has dedicated her life to helping people living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, addiction, and other mental differences discover confidence through creativity. Through her groundbreaking arts collective, Cracked Eggs, thousands of participants have found community, purpose, and a voice in a world that too often dismisses or institutionalizes them.

Our film asks a simple but urgent question: What happens when society treats creativity as a luxury instead of a human need?



As mental health services, housing programs, and arts funding continue to disappear, spaces like Cracked Eggs become increasingly rare—and increasingly necessary. This documentary isn't just the story of one remarkable artist. It's about the people whose lives have been transformed by her work, and about reimagining how we think about mental difference, disability, and human potential.

At its heart, Cracked Eggs believes that people deserve to be defined by their creativity—not by a diagnosis. Through Linda's extraordinary life, we hope to challenge stigma, celebrate outsider artists, and remind audiences that community and compassion can be revolutionary acts.

Cracked Eggs is not a traditional documentary.

Blending intimate vérité filmmaking with archival materials, performance art, surreal imagery, and autobiographical storytelling, the film mirrors the fragmented ways memory, trauma, and schizophrenia can be experienced. Rather than presenting Linda Sibio's life as a straightforward biography, the film embraces contradiction, humor, vulnerability, and imagination to create a cinematic language as unconventional as Linda herself.

A recurring device is used: the "Three Lindas," representing Linda's past, present, and future, guide audiences through deserts, city streets, performance spaces, and childhood memories, transforming emotional truth into living cinema. Color, sound, and performance become expressions of Linda's inner world while remaining grounded in the real community she has built through Cracked Eggs.

Our goal is to create a documentary that feels as fearless, inventive, and deeply human as its subject. We want audiences to leave inspired not only by Linda's resilience, but by the transformative power of art to build connection, challenge assumptions, and imagine a more compassionate future.

The budget for Cracked Eggs is strategically planned to ensure high-level creative execution for the film, preserve her legacy, and make sure the program continues to support those in need of its services before the end of 2026.

Cast & Crew ($5,450): Fair compensation for the talented artists who bring Cracked Eggs to life.

Equipment Rentals ($500): Renting the Lumix GH6 with anamorphic lenses in Washington DC so we can match the rest of the film.

Wardrobe & Makeup ($650): Styling Linda for her big anti-Trump performance.

Crafty & Catering ($800): Meals and snacks to keep our crew energized.

Transportation & Accommodations ($5,600): Plane tickets to Washington DC, short-term-stay rental and transport around the city.

Post-Production Editing ($3,000) Stock footage and music licensing to complete the final edit.

Educational Outreach ($14,000) More Cracked Eggs classes by Linda, including touring film festivals where audiences can see the film, then experience the program.

Cracked Eggs is more than a documentary.  It's part of a growing movement that believes art can transform lives.

For decades, Linda Sibio has dedicated her life to creating spaces where people living with mental differences can build confidence, find community, and discover their own creative voices. Through the Cracked Eggs program, participants haven't simply made art:  they've found purpose, formed lasting relationships, and become artists, teachers, and leaders themselves.

Our hope is that this film becomes a catalyst for the next chapter of that work.

Over the last four years, the Cracked Eggs program has shepherded over 150 students over 12 cohorts of 8-week courses.

Following its completion, we plan to bring Cracked Eggs to film festivals, theaters, museums, universities, mental health organizations, and community spaces across North America. Whenever possible, screenings will be accompanied by workshops, artist talks, and interactive events led by Linda, giving audiences the opportunity not only to watch the film, but to experience the Cracked Eggs philosophy firsthand.

The documentary will also shine a spotlight on Bezerk Productions' broader vision for the future. Linda has developed a Train the Trainer model that allows communities to learn and teach the Cracked Eggs methodology themselves, creating opportunities for creative expression, leadership, and employment. By introducing these ideas to a wider audience, we hope the film helps create new partnerships, workshops, research opportunities, and sustainable support that will allow this work to continue growing for years to come.

If we exceed our fundraising goal, every additional dollar will strengthen both the film and its impact. Extra funding will support additional editing, archival licensing, sound design, color correction, accessibility features, festival submissions, educational outreach, and community screenings, ensuring Cracked Eggs reaches the people who need it most.

This campaign isn't just about completing a documentary. It's about helping build a future where creativity is recognized as a source of dignity, connection, and possibility for everyone.

If we don't raise a minimum of 80% of our Seed&Spark funding goal, Cracked Eggs won't receive any funding.
