Hello everyone, Ayessa here.

I'm the writer and director of Dalaga, and also the actor playing Lea! Dalaga is truly a labor of love, and I was only able to make it by having an awesome cast and crew who were just as invested in the story as I was.

I was inspired to make Dalaga from watching 2000's romcoms where I felt that the leading woman should have ended up with her supporting female lead:

As much as I love The Haunting of Bly Manor, Yellowjackets, The 100, etc I was tired of having to watch women go through The Horrors just to see them be gay. Why can't there just be plain lesbian romcoms? Women are funny!!

I created Dalaga to help rectify this gap in media. (Alice Wu, you are my inspiration). Dalaga is a romcom about two best friends whose relationship evolves once one of them starts dating a woman.

I wanted to explore how female friendships can be really gay.

I saved up money to create the first 12 episodes of Dalaga, and I'm so happy that it's resonating with so many people! It makes me feel like it was money well spent. I'm impatient to make season 2, but I don't have the funds to make it all myself. I could save up again, but it would mean having to wait a little longer for the next season #bills #adulting #sad

I want to shoot at least 20 episodes this fall and post those episodes that same season as well. But I need your help! The funds we raise will go towards locking down filming locations in August, paying our cast and crew (for filming in September/October), and craft services.
