Mission Statement
The Story
My goal as a filmmaker, actor, and swordsman is to continue the tradition of classic sword fighting films. Every fight in my future films will tell a story. To do this I want the fights to feel more intimate with longer takes, thus allowing audience members to be able to track each cut, thrust, parry, and riposte.
Keeping true to the filming process of Dauntless we will take adequate time to choreograph and train our performers. This allows for precise movement, intentional acting, and efficiency when it comes to shooting each fight.
Dauntless provided many firsts for several cast and crew members. The passion they exuded to make their first sword fighting film bled into the what we've captured so far. I want to continue providing opportunities like these to folks who have yet to experience them as I do believe it has significantly elevated the project.
Isolation, greed, and disease tear apart the fabric of civilization in the land of Olladra. The Guilded Reaper, a hidden organization, is to blame. Desperate to save life as they know it, the last of a line of sword protectors seek help to fight back. Armed with a bit of magic, a dagger, and desperation, they find themselves looking for a companion in the last place they'd ever expect.
This campaign is for post-production. Let's make sure this ship really sails! Your funds will go towards the following items:
- A custom film score!
- The hiring of a professional Foley artist (sound effects like swords and armor clashing and clanking)!
- Final mixing of the above music, sound effects, and dialog!
- A movie poster designed by a real human being!
My goal is to be completed with the film by December 2023. Incentives like shout outs and social media icons will be given out within 72 hours of your contribution. The online swords class and other behind the scenes content will follow within the few months after this campaign's completion. All other incentives will be provided once the film has been finished. You will be contacted on the delivery of your incentives via email.
Note that I will also be providing you continual updates on the progress of the project throughout post production and beyond :-) This is your project too and I will not leave you in the dark!
- Tell someone directly about this campaign and why YOU think THEY should take a look. I learned through collecting data on my first campaign that a social media post does not make someone act. There's too much noise out there to really motivate anyone. It's the human to human connection and community we need to bring back and foster. This is a great opportunity to make a memory together and have something to talk about in the future over a campfire ;-)
