The Story
Building on the momentum of the short film Extra Days
Days delves deeper into the life of Hampton Cade Morrison, a 30-year-old self-taught photographer at a crossroads. Struggling to carve a meaningful place for himself as a creative professional, Hampton is torn between his aspirations and the weight of his own insecurities. At this pivotal moment, he finds himself emotionally disconnected from the people who matter most—his family, friends, and even himself. His need to control time through his art reflects a deeper desire for stability, but this obsession is driving him further into isolation.
Hampton views his dreams through the metaphor of flowers in a fragile vase—delicate, beautiful, and on the brink of destruction. With every passing day, he faces the fear that time is slipping away, leaving him unable to capture the essence of what he truly wants in life. As his studio time runs out and his once-clear path begins to blur, Hampton is forced to reckon with the past decisions that have shaped his current struggles. In the process, he realizes that the love and support of his family—the very thing he’s distanced himself from—might be the key to unlocking the inspiration and strength he needs to move forward.
As Hampton learns to reconcile with both the painful and the beautiful parts of his history, he must confront his deepest fears and question the way he's been living. Will he continue to push away the very people who care about him, or can he find a way to embrace both his past and his present to create a future that’s truly his own? Days is a reflection on the fragility of dreams, the weight of time, and the power of reconnecting with one’s roots in order to find peace in the present.
As a group of early-career artists in our 20s-30s this story is not just something we dreamed up, we are currently living it. Days is a love letter to all the dreamers. The people who may have found their passion " too late " but still have the drive and desire to go after what they want. As the world is shifting away from the arts and funding has been cut a story like Days is pivotal in keeping the inspiration alive and letting those 30-somethings that decided that now is the time to dream that they aren't alone. Our country and community NEEDS artists especially at a time where books are being banned, rights are being stripped, arts programs being cut--now is the time to face your fears and chase your dreams. Days is not just a film, it is a call to action. We are calling on everyone who went down the path they were told would lead to the American Dream and realized it wasn't theirs. Days is an echo of the voice of our ancestors who died on the front lines granting us the right to speak our truth and chase our passions. Days is the sum of all of the years of turmoil our people have endured to arrive here. Now we are asking YOU--what do you dream for? Support our dream of telling this story and inspiring the next generation of artists. Whether they be 14, 40, or 84. Get out there and dream.
When we are funded we plan to use the funds to feed our crew and secure filming locations. Should we receive any funds beyond our goal it will go towards post-production needs which can include but is not limited to: Sound Mixing and Mastering, Coloring, Editing, Film Festival submissions, Premiere costs, etc.
All of this will be paid for and completed by August 2026 as we plan for September 2026 for our premiere.

One of the locations we will film at is a photography studio. We will need to rent it for a day. *This cost will be split with producers*

About This Team
Lorenzo Henriquez(he/him) is an multi-disciplinary artist and educator local to the DMV area who believes in storytelling as a vehicle to build community and repair fractures in society. Lorenzo is a graduate of Bowie State University's Theatre Arts program where he studied movement, acting, lighting design, hip-hop theatre, and experimental theatre. Lorenzo has been most recently seen as The Rapper S.O.S in S.O.S and Rafiq Jr. in Foundations. Lorenzo believes in using his God-given talents to inspire the next generation and leave the world a better place than how he found it.
Chelsea Michael Goode is an actor from Richmond, Virginia. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. She is signed with DDO Artists Agency. Chelsea's recent film credits include "Miss Valentine" (Capital Arts Entertainment), "The Matriarch" (Expected End Entertainment), and "A Night To Remember" (Nicole Cousins Productions). In addition, Chelsea is so excited to lead such an amazing cast and crew as the director of "Days"!

Audra Jacobs (Producer) is a DC-based theatre and film practitioner. Film directing credits include A Night To Remember (Nicole Cousins Productions). Theatre directing credits include I Have No Idea Why I'm Here (Bowie State University), Sherlock in Wonderland (Assistant Director, Encore Stage), and The Rainmaker (Assistant Director, 1st Stage), among others. Audra is the Connectivity Director at 1st Stage in Tysons, Virginia.

Nathanael Hatchett, the nationally award winning collegiate playwright and PG county middle school girls basketball coach of the year for the ‘22-‘23 season is an actor, filmmaker, coach, teacher and screenwriter from Waldorf,Maryland. As a graduate of Bowie State University in Theatre Arts, Nathanael’s recent theatrical acting credits include: Wannabe as (Quinton) prod. By DC Capital Fringe Festival, Chemical Exile Synthesis as the character (Frankie) prod. by Rorschach Theatre. Hatchett presents himself as a modern day Renaissance Man, and he sees all of these identities as a greater reflection of who he is inside, art.
