As a vegan Hindu mindfulness teacher, I became aware of contradictions within the mindfulness, Hindu and Buddhist communities on the primary precept of "Do No Harm" and its prevalence in the dairy industry. My documentary journey revealed unspeakable evil. Once you see the harm, you can’t unsee it.

Mission Statement

Pria Acharya sets out to leave a legacy, appealing to our innate, compassionate nature to Do No Harm, bravely examining our history, traditions, culture and paradoxes with dairy.

The Story

As a vegan Hindu mindfulness teacher, I became aware of contradictions within the mindfulness, Hindu and Buddhist communities on the primary precept of "Do No Harm" and its prevalence in the dairy industry.  My documentary journey revealed unspeakable evil. Once you see the harm, you can’t unsee it.

So I set out to leave a legacy, appealing to our innate, compassionate nature to Do No Harm, bravely examining our history, traditions, culture and paradoxes with dairy. I had to go beyond being vegan and passively set an example. I needed to actively create awareness of the horrible abuses happening under our noses and in front of our eyes every second. I want to create something that can’t easily be ignored or turned away from. At the very least, a documentary allows for witnessing, so the innocent don’t die in vain. At the same time, awareness of various harms, such as to our health and planet can occur through a well-crafted documentary.

We are currently commencing our Phase Three: Post-Production video editing and distribution for our “Do No Harm” 6 series webisode documentary.

Phase One: Validate the idea “Do No Harm,” write the story, and develop the plan from production to post-production to online distribution.

Phase Two: 30-day video shoot in India included nurturing local relationships, researching and validating story leads, and documenting and capturing the story locally.

Phase Three: Created Seed and Spark campaign for the purpose to complete the video editing post-production and online series distribution.

Distribution: We have a multi-tier online webisode approach.

1) Create an organic marketing campaign via social media, trades, and Podcasts.

2) Leverage our relationship with Mid-level free streamers: Tubi, Ruko, Filmrise, and others for webisode streaming for first showings.

3) Move to YouTube to continue building an audience to get the message out, “Do No Harm.”

Do No Harm is a series of 6 documentary webisodes built upon my journey to India to validate and expose the dairy culture. Each episode will be 5 minutes and do a deep dive into the dairy culture, Hindu paradox, and personal vegan lifestyle choices. These webisodes are the first step in my journey to expose the truth and create solutions moving forward through awareness, education, and bringing voices to Do No Harm communities.

Episode 1 Pilgrimage / Arriving in India

We join Pria on her Pilgrimage back home to India to face her dharma paradox.

Episode 2 Holy Cow / Hindu Paradox

10 minutes after arriving in India, Pria’s worst fears presented themselves; The Hindu sacred cow wandered through the congested streets, scavenging human trash as a food source.

Episode 3 Milkman / Dairy Process

We discover with Pria, the centuries-old Hindu paradox of the “Sacred Cow” and how it’s ingrained into daily living and a dairy diet. Delving into the dairy industry reveals the unthinkable disposal of baby calves.

Episode 4 Community / Activism

As Pria ventures deeper into the dairy culture, she finds a Hindu vegan activist community practicing “Do No Harm.”

Episode 5 Temple Paradox / Veganism

Pria visits various Hindu temples and confronts temples with cows being milked. At the same time, their calves go hungry and suffer in inhumane conditions as worshippers pray in temples across from them, revealing a Hinduism paradox.

Episode 6 Exploring Solutions / Health, Community & Non-Dairy Alternatives

Once you’ve seen the harm, you can’t unsee it. Pria heads home to confront her Hindu paradoxes, seeks a way forward to share her story, and offers solutions to move forward.
