Doula is a deeply personal story that asks us what we owe each other. What care must we give to those around us, those in need, even when logic tells us to walk away?

The Story
In January of this year our family lost our home in the Eaton Canyon Wildfire. Like thousands of other families we lost our everything overnight. With the help of The Ashes to Films Initiative we intend to turn this destruction into a moment of creativity and healing. Doula is story of two women finding human connection, empathy and care at the most unexpected of moments. This is a story of hope in the face of disaster and is the kind of storytelling that can be healing in these turbulent times.
Alongside an initial grant from The Ashes to Films Initiative we will be using the funds raised to complete production and post production, pay our crew and eventually submit our completed film to festivals so that we can share our story with as many audiences as possible. We're employing a predominantly female crew, as well as designers, producers and writers to bring their insights and artistry to the story of these two women.

With your help we can use this difficult time to make something beautiful! Thank you very much.
