Mission Statement

Our film takes fun tone to tell a story about a serious subject. Through animation and live action, our film tackles themes of anxiety, mental health and communication. By supporting our film, you're helping us to spread the word that it's okay to ask for help when you need it. Plus it's funny.

The Story

While attending a sleep study, Miles Puck meets the girl of his dreams. He's also diagnosed with anxiety driven night terrors. Now his stress levels are going through the roof as he manages this new relationship, a job he hates. At least he has a teddy bear to help him through his night terrors.

The film is based on, our writer/director, Jack McCafferty's own experiences with night terrors, sleep paralysis and relationships. Many a night, he's woken up punching the air or searching his bed for nonexistent scorpions. While it's a really troubling occurrence, he saw the humor in his situation and thought it was perfect to be explored in a movie. So, he wrote this very personal and honest story to share with everyone.

Dreaming of You is a Romantic Comedy all about dreams, anxiety and self-worth. This film aims to tell a story tackling relationships and mental health in a fun creative way.  It’s been a lot of work for a small production like this to take on.

At its core, this film is about struggling with mental health and one guy’s journey to realizing he needs help. It’s a very serious subject matter that we hope to shed some light on. That being said, this is not a heavy film. Far from it. We have a talking teddy bear in it for Pete’s Sake (Whomever Pete may be). Our philosophy is that the best way to explore such a heavy subject is with lots of humor and silly jokes. It humanizes the issues and makes you relate that much more with our characters. So, get ready to laugh your butt off then think, “Oh, wait. That actually resonates a lot.” And after the past few years being as anxiety filled as they were, it's the perfect time to get this message our there.

This film is about as indie as indie film gets. Most of it takes place in Jack’s garage, we’ve called in every favor imaginable and we’ve already sunk a lot of our own money into making this happen. With production on the horizon this spring, all of that is about to pay off. Your donations will be going to things to enhance the final product as well as taking care of our crew.

Things like Covid safety are big factors that strain our already strained budget. We have testing and PPE to factor in. We want our crew to be safe and we want to thank them as much as we can for all their hard work on the film. In addition, small things most big budget movies take for granted go a long way to making this kind of film really pop. Help us pop this film.

And if you can't contribute monitarily, please share this page and our social media pages! Every bit helps!

This probably goes without saying, but our goal is to make a really great, cool, dope, fun, heartwarming, touching and amazing film. A film that we plan on sending to various film festivals to screen for large movie going audiences. We want to make the world laugh and to use the film to do just that.

Once we finish the film, we're going to pursue a strong festival run. Screenings and awards go a long way to garner attention for the project so we can hopefully put it on a large platform for all to see. We want this film to have its best possible chance for success in the grand media landscape.

Jack McCafferty - Writer/ Director / Actor

Jack is an award-winning writer and director with a passion for making people laugh. While this is his first feature film, it’s far from his first project. He’s directed some fun award-winning shorts  and crafted some very silly animated web series. He is extremely proud of this script. It’s a very personal story to him that he believes will touch both hearts and funny bones.  He’s very grateful for any help given to the film. It’s gonna be dope.
Check out his work here!

Lauren LaVera - Actor

In Dreaming of You, Lauren plays our female side of the romance in this romantic comedy. Ren is much more emotionally intelligent than our pal Miles, but she has her own hang ups about relationships that rear their ugly head. We’ve all got our baggage, but Ren seems to face her head on with her head-turning, head strong head on her shoulders.
Lauren is an extremely talented actor who has graced us all with her presence via film and television. Maybe you’ve seen Lauren in Marvel’s Iron Fist, Dispatches from Elsewhere or A Taste of Christmas. And if you like things on the spooky end, be sure to watch her star in Terrifier 2 coming soon. #HopeSheLives

Ian Ross - Actor

In this film, Ian plays Miles’ eccentric roommate/cousin, Carter. He honestly gets some of the funniest lines in the film.
Ian is a tour de force behind and in front of the camera. He’s worked with Jack on the short film, Good Mourning, and stolen the show in a bunch of other films as well. And if you’re a Philly sports fan, check out the documentary Ian produced called Maybe This Year. All about the Eagles making their way to the superbowl.

Jake Westphal - Actor

Jake plays this movies’ antagonist, Leo, Ren’s crazy ex boyfriend. Whenever things for Ren and Miles seem to be going well, Leo is there to mess things up and make Miles feel inadequate.
Jake is a very talented comedic actor who will absolutely nail the role. Unlike his character in this film, Jake is a great guy with a heart of gold and a dome of chrome. He’s worked with Jack on a bunch of live action and animated projects and now he gets to do both at the same time.

Bridgett Greenberg - Producer

Bridgett has produced films that have made it all the way to such cool film festivals as Sundance and South by Southwest. She’s also produced for such internet comedy companies as Cracked and Collegehumor.
Check out her website here!

Anthony Marotta - Cinematographer

Anthony has worked on a bunch of shorts with Jack and other cool people. And he’s even won awards for his cinematography in the feature, The Place We’re Going.
Check out his work here!

Shamus Hays - AC

Shamus knows his way around a film set. This isn’t his first rodeo. He’s been to many rodeos. And by rodeos, we mean film sets. In fact, he’s directed his own film called The Place We’re Going. It was not about rodeos. But he’s excited to work with all the cameras on this film. Jack, who is writing this, wants everyone to know he beat Shamus in Mario Party.

Christian Kircher - Sound Mixer

Did you hear that? It’s the sound of a great sound guy. That’s Christian. He’s worked on a ton of productions. He’s always booked on some cool film or show, but we were fortunate enough to get him for this project. This film is gonna sound really nice.

We have a bunch of other cool people on this project, and they're all super pumped to get started making this awesome film!
