Mission Statement

The mission here, as you might guess from our previous work, is to keep up our commitment to telling queer stories with dynamic characters and an equal balance of fun and angst.

The Story

It’s time to return to the Shakespearean world of the West Balk Penguins! This 5-episode sequel picks up almost five years after the end of ”Twelfth Grade (or Whatever)” during the COVID-19 crisis of 2020. Bianca Aguecheek is still in high school, stuck at home with her controlling father, while her older brother Drew has just graduated from college and is trying to make his way in the world. But whatever happened between him and Oren Douglas?

In "Twelfth Grade (or Whatever)," our web series adaptation of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," Viola disguised herself as "Sam," a cis boy, to attend an all-male boarding school. Her roommate Oren fell in love with town recluse Liv, and Liv in return fell in love with "Sam." It was a 56-episode journey of romance and self-discovery for all three protagonists, but many threads were left unresolved...

Since "Twelfth Grade," we here at Quip Modest have been making web series both original and based on other pieces of literature. Our back catalog includes "The Emma Agenda," "The Uncanny Upshurs," "Public History," and more. After all this time, we've decided to return to the world of "Twelfth Grade" to tie up a couple of loose ends.

The script is written, the actors are down, and now we just need a bit of cash to make sure everyone is compensated for their time and we have equipment for the production. The series will be filmed remotely and from the actors’ apartments, taking place through video calls. We want to finally resolve this hanging plot thread from the end of “Twelfth Grade,” and you can help us do it!

FUNDING GOALS

$800 – We get the Green Light and can make the show!

$1,000 – We’re fully funded! When we reach this goal, we’ll also release a never-before-seen “Twelfth Grade” bloopers video!

$1,200 – Wow, that’s incredible! If we get here, we’ll have a livestream Q&A featuring as many Quip Modest actors as we can get!

Thank you so much for your support, and we hope you'll enjoy the show!
