Two teens. Two cars. A looming test. And a crush. Koops/Parker Films brings our 3rd short film collaboration - a comedy - to you! Though actors by profession who "play" in front of the camera, we also tell stories from behind the camera. Our stories. But we need a village to raise our voice.

Mission Statement

I am a female writer/director/actress who is co-producing this short film with Samuel Parker. Our current interest as filmmakers lie in presenting comedic and dramatic teenage-centered stories for audiences of all ages.

The Story

Welcome to Koops/Parker films!
We are an award-winning teenage film production team who endeavor to bring you another short film!

Our previous films include:
STUCK (available on YouTube/Vimeo)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6679526/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_7

DANIELLE'S BOAT https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7455896/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_6

DRIVER'S ED is a comedy.

Remember when you learned to drive? Or when you taught someone to drive? Driving is something we tend to take for granted. And easier than we think. Or is it?

Drawing from personal experience and with the memory fresh at hand, Dana and Sam bring you a story about two teens who desperately want their driver's license. But all does not go according to plan...

We are in pre-production.

3 days of filming.

Post-production in the fall/winter.

In-kind donations would also be welcome!

We need to borrow:
Car Mounts for Camera

???  (PEDESTRIAN)

??? (NEWT'S DAD)

Our Village:

Though both trained actors who act professionally and are completely comfortable in front of the camera, we are (due to our age) unable to attend a formal film school. As a result of our acting and graduate studies at Gary Spatz's The Playground, we have learned a bit about life behind the camera. However, in order to learn and utilize as much as we can about directing/producing and in order to get our hands directly "on the steering wheel," we developed our own "film school" program by working closely with MENTORS.

Meet Drew Paslay -

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4959496/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr5

Drew mentored Sam as he directed DANIELLE'S BOAT, and this time he will guide Dana through her directorial debut.

Meet Sam Dlugach -

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1657554/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Jack of all trades, Sam will not only mentor Dana in the editing room, but crew on set where needed and colour our film!

Where we go from here:

Upon completion we will submit our film to various FILM FESTIVALS.

It will then be made PUBLIC on our YouTube/Vimeo channels "Koops/Parker Films."

Thank you so much!

Dana and Sam

About This Team

DANA KOOPS: writer/director/actress/producer

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5689377/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Dana Koops was born in Los Angeles, CA to Alexander and Shaelyn Koops, both of whom grew up on several continents. Growing up with a music professor father and English teacher mother, Dana quickly developed into an avid reader, writer, musician, and all around adventure seeker. The acting bug bit Dana when she stepped onto the stage as a toddler in an Azusa Pacific University opera production of "Suor Angelica" (Puccini). After dabbling in theatre for several years, Dana decided to study acting. She attended Gary Spatz's - The Playground: A Young Actor's Conservatory, Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop, and the Groundlings School. Dana continues her studies through private coaching. She was given her first film role as the principal character Kid in the short "Corporate Lemonade" (2014) soon after her studies began and has been enjoying every role thereafter. Interestd in other aspects of filmmaking as well, Dana wrote, acted in, and produced her first short film "Stuck" (2017), which won Best in Show at the American Youth Film Festival and which screened at a variety of other youth film festivals, including The Chicago International Children's Film Festival. Dana's love of story and sense of adventure (fostered by living in Latvia for a brief time and exploring the world) encourages her desire to develop into not only a versatile actress, but an engaging filmmaker. In her element when on set, both in front of and behind the camera, Dana also enjoys reading, rock climbing, viola, tennis, and swing dancing.
