Mission Statement

Elegy is a mixed media performance created to spotlight the lonely and messy journey of grief. Our goal is to utilize dance, film, and music to create an image of what it could look like to invite our community and God into our vulnerable spaces.

The Story

Elegy is a unique mixed media project which combines dance storytelling with moments of narrative film interwoven. Elegy is a film that will also be adapted to a live show in which the dance portions will be performed by the V3 Dance team at an event called Envision.

In Elegy, we follow a young man who struggles to navigate a myriad of conflicting emotions following the loss of a loved one and his community. Guided by a nuanced perspective, this story delves into the various facets of grief, offering a realistic portrayal of finding restoration and healing in the face of unimaginable loss.

In the quiet suburbs of a contemporary town, high school student Ryan grapples with the profound void left by his father's mysterious departure. Struggling with grief, guilt, and a loss of faith, Ryan's heart echoes with the strain of their distant relationship, leaving him engulfed in depression and hopelessness.

Through the tapestry of grief, loss, and redemption, this story delves into the resilience of the human spirit and seeks to remind audiences that even in the darkest moments, they are not alone.

Guided by faith, community, and love, Ryan embarks on a journey toward healing and freedom.

The intention with Elegy is to bring a spotlight to the lonely and messy journey of grief and show what it could look like to invite community and God into our vulnerable space to help shoulder the weight of grief and burden. We want to be able to empathize with and console our viewers that have endured their own personal bouts of loss and allow them to feel seen, heard, and understood.

Although our lives and experiences are so uniquely designed to be different, we hope that our effort to reach over the gap will also spur those around us to be willing to sit and listen, to exercise how to love, and to support those who are going through difficult times.

This is where we need your help. We're embarking on an ambitious film project—3.5 shoot days, 6 locations. The budget covers cast, crew, locations, rentals, insurance, art, and more.

Whether it's a financial contribution, a share, or a follow, everything and anything helps. Join us in bringing this film to life. Please keep this project in your prayers, and with all things, we hope to glorify God throughout this process and through our film Elegy. Thank you!

Funding and producing a fund is no easy feat! There are so many little things that need to be taken into account when making a film, and we won't be able to do so without the love and support from our community.

Please see the wishlist portion to see a more in depth breakdown of the budget.
