The Story
SYNOPSIS
Tanner is a popular high school senior with everything going for him. He's an honor student, star athlete, and all-around nice guy. We meet him one morning as he receives a string of mysterious texts about some type of rendezvous later that day. His best friends -- LJ and Emily -- seem to know what's going on but everybody else is clueless, including his mom, Beverly, who might just kill him if she finds out.
We can't tell you everything -- because where's the fun in that? But we can say that our script is getting praise from festivals and even more great reviews are rolling in every day! Plus, we want you to invest not just in an award-winning script but also an award-winning team.

And speaking of team, the folks at Eisenberg/Beans Casting have done such an amazing job helping us find talent. After reviewing tons of great submissions, we are happy to introduce Claire D'Angelo who will be playing Tanner, Donna Vivino (Wicked, Good Friday) who will be playing Beverly, and Dan Domingues (Run All Night, Royal Pains) who will be playing Tommy, a college professor who may hold some of the answers to Tanner's secret. These three made their characters come to life in such wonderful ways -- you're going to love them just as much as we do! More casting announcements will be on the way shortly!

Why Us?
We are a diverse group of LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or women filmmakers. We know a thing or two about secrets and assumptions. We've also seen what representation has looked liked over the years and want to change that. All of us have professional experience working with major studios and streaming services -- but this one isn't about them. It's about us. It's about all of us.
Please check out the Team Section above to learn more about all of us!
You can also check out our director Julio's last film "Louder Than Words" which is available on YouTube!
Why This?
Everyone likes to laugh -- but comedies can also help us confront big questions like, 'What are the most important parts of my identity? Can we find strength in vulnerability? Do we have to be a different person when we're around different people? And how many people share the same worries and hopes as me?' Dang, that's some pretty heavy stuff. *dramatically stares out the window stroking my chin*
... I SAID CHIN, you perverts.
Why Now?
After the last two years, we need to remember there are still reasons to celebrate. And, Family Affair is a celebration of friends, family, and the human spirit. It's also a reminder that independent voices are still struggling to be heard in the entertainment industry but we're going to get there one way or another.
Why You?
Because you're awesome - naturally! Because you care about promoting independent voices and unique perspectives. Because you want to be a part of something that will not only lighten people's moods but also warm their hearts and hopefully, change their perspectives. When we take this film to festivals around the world, we're taking your support along with us. We can't do this alone. We don't want to do this alone even if we could. We need you and we love you exactly how you are! Here are ways you can help:

Composer
Vincent Isler is a Swiss-born composer primarily working in Film & TV out of Los Angeles. He has worked in many different genres ranging from short animated dramas to silent film comedies.
Growing up in a family of filmmakers, he was always surrounded by movies and found his way into film scoring through film, rather than through music. To further his knowledge, he moved to Boston to earn degrees in Film Scoring and Composition from Berklee College Of Music.
While studying, Vincent won several awards and scholarships, among which was the BMI Film Scoring Scholarship Award.
Vincent wrote and conducted the opening reel for Harold Lloyd's 1925 box office hit "The Freshman" under the direction of three-time Emmy nominated composer Sheldon Mirowitz. The film opened the 2017 San Francisco Silent Film Festival.
His credits include work like "This Is What We Make", a documentary about entrepreneurs and how they transform their visions into reality, but also dramatic short films like "In This Place Where We Lie" and many more.
Vincent was commissioned to compose two contemporary ballet pieces for the 2021 edition of the Prix De Lausanne's Young Creation Award. Both of the winning choreographies were set to his music.
Currently he works for Sherri Chung on television shows such as "Riverdale", "Batwoman" & "Blindspot".
