Mission Statement

Chinese American kids grow up torn between two cultures and do not always understand the importance of their heritage. This film shows how learning the Chinese language helps them connect with the past, grow in the present, and set the stage for their future success.

The Story

Synopsis

All You’ve Got is a short film that follows Ian, a Chinese American tween who is struggling to learn Chinese in a classroom after falling behind during the pandemic. Ian is embarrassed because he’s not as skilled as other kids when he first attends and they laugh at his mistakes. He wants to quit, but his Chinese father believes it’s important for him to learn Chinese. His American mother on the other hand is at first skeptical. She questions the amount of homework required. Eventually though, through hard work and support from both parents, Ian begins to improve and even receives encouragement from one of his classmates. He discovers a greater feeling of belonging, especially when connecting with his grandparents in China on video calls. He feels closer and has more fun talking with them. Ian finds that learning Chinese helps him feel more a part of his whole family, his father’s culture, and enables him to embrace all of who he is rather than feeling like he has to leave the Chinese part of him behind while growing up in America.

Since 2022...

ClasShare has produced four short films featuring dozens of kids, two of which have been accepted by 9 film festivals. Our fifth film BedWars: Cheat Code is currently in post-production and will be submitted to festivals later this spring. In this exciting new short film, child actors along with their parents worked together to tell the story of a group of gamers battling to win a championship tournament!

We're off to a serious start...

Our highly experienced team has the knowledge, creativity, and passionate spirit to bring together all the moving parts needed to make All You’ve Got a reality. We care deeply about this story and are taking the time needed to make it feel honest and real.

To date we have our key cast and crew members attached to the production. We also have a fourth draft of the script and two days blocked out to shoot the film in May. We take safety on set serious and if we experience any delays due to COVID, we will reschedule as needed and promptly update all of our supporters here on Seed&Spark.

See the result...

Once All You've Got is complete, everyone who pledged during this campaign will recieve a private link to the film to watch it before any public screenings. We will also submit it to film festivals around the world that focus on important issues related to children.

How the funds we raise will be spent...

Here's where you come in…

We have the filmmaking community here in Atlanta to bootstrap certain elements of production, but we need your support to make it happen. By supporting us, you are helping give children new and exciting opportunities, not only in All You've Got, but in our future projects as well.

Your pledge will help ensure that we can bring together the best crew this town can offer, pay them what they deserve, and give them the tools they need. You’ll help ensure we have the right resources to keep the crew and cast safe while on set. You can also be sure that your contributions to this campaign will be seen on screen as we send this film out to festivals around the world.

Seed&Spark requires that we raise at least 80% of our goal in 30 days or we won't receive any funds at all. Your support goes a long way to ensure we get the greenlight and can move forward with production!

Help spread the word!

Pledging any amount to the campaign is immensely helpful, no matter how much.  Times are tough and we totally understand everyone is coming from a different place. But please rest assured that no pledge is too small and know that we are thankful.

From all of us at ClasShare...

Thank you for allowing the ClasShare team to share our vision for this film with you. We can’t express how excited we are that you are thinking about supporting us! Even if you can’t pledge now, we hope you’ll stick around and follow this journey as it unfolds. This crowdfunding experience is new for us and a little frightening, but we know this will propel us towards success. We are also thrilled to be creating a film that celebrates connecting with all of the pieces of who you are, embracing your heritage, and finding a way forward that allows you to belong in your own multicultural space.

If you feel called, please feel free to reach out to me anytime about this project at [email protected]. We can’t wait to bring this project to life!
