The Story
Finding Woody Harrelson started with something I’ve heard almost my entire life:
“You know who you look like?”
For more than 30 years, strangers have stopped me in gas stations, casinos, grocery stores, and on film sets to tell me I look like Woody Harrelson. At first, it was just funny. Then it became part of my identity.

But this documentary isn’t really about Woody.
It’s about me finally telling my story.
I grew up in foster care. I struggled with addiction. I went to prison. I survived a devastating motorcycle accident that took my leg and nearly took my life. For a long time, I believed my story was already written.

Then at 50 years old, I walked into my very first acting class.
Since then, I’ve appeared on NBC’s Chicago Fire, HBO’s The Sympathizer with Robert Downey Jr., Everybody's in LA, and the series Pluribus.
Now I’m taking the biggest step yet.

This film follows my journey across America as I search for the man people say I resemble, while confronting my past, my failures, my survival, and the question that’s followed me my whole life:
Who am I really?
This is not a celebrity worship story.
It’s a story about second chances.
About getting older and refusing to quit.
About surviving things that should’ve broken you.
About finding purpose when the world expects you to disappear quietly.
I want this film to make people laugh.
I want it to be honest.
And I want people who feel overlooked to see themselves in it.

Along the way, I'll revisit places from my past, reconnect with people who shaped my life, and explore how a simple comparison to a famous actor became part of my identity.
WHY NOW?
Because I've reached a point in my life where I understand the value of time.
I've spent years chasing opportunities, building a career, and proving that it's never too late to pursue a dream. Now I want to take everything I've learned and tell a story that might inspire someone else to keep going.
Some stories can wait.
This one can't.
WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN FUNDS
This crowdfunding campaign is not intended to finance the entire documentary. These funds will be used to create a Proof of Concept (POC), including initial research, travel, interviews, and a teaser that will help us demonstrate the project's potential and pursue additional production funding.
The Proof of Concept will allow us to begin telling this story, build momentum, and show future investors, partners, and supporters what Finding Woody Harrelson can become.
Your support helps us:
- Research and develop the story
- Travel to key locations
- Conduct preliminary interviews
- Create a teaser and pitch materials
- Prepare the project for production and future funding
Most independent films never get made because nobody takes a chance on them early.
This is your chance to help build something meaningful from the ground floor.
And if this journey proves anything, I hope it proves this:
It is never too late to rewrite your story.
