The Story
HOW FLAMBOYANCE CAME TO LIFE
This project started with a single vision: a dance scene. Inspired by the track "Pink Gold and Blue" by the synth group You'll Never Get to Heaven, we wanted to capture a specific kind of cinematic vulnerability.
From that idea, FLAMBOYANCE was born.
This isn't your standard mob movie. While we’re leaning into the grit of the classics we grew up on, we’re stripping away the dated tropes to focus on the modern nuance we really haven't seen incorporated in this genre before . It’s a story about the fluid nature of sexuality, control, and human nature, set against a backdrop of organized crime.
WHY THIS STORY, WHY US, WHY NOW?
Why this? The Mob Classic is a foundational genre, but it often repeats itself, and the classics have already cemented themselves. We’re taking those themes of greed and loyalty and putting them in a world that looks like the one we actually live in—vibrant, complicated, and diverse.
Why us? Tavon Emmanuel and I have built a partnership based on subverting expectations. Tavon’s script is brilliant and sharp, and I’ve spent my time at Dodge College mastering the art of the independent, shoe-string budget. I know how to take a limited resource and turn it into something high-end that you’d never expect to see from a student production.
Why now? We’re ready to shoot in May 2026. Pre-production is already moving fast, and the indie film landscape is currently hungry for genre-bending stories like this one. We have the momentum, a we just need the final push. The Wachowski's 1996 Bound is a major inspiration and the only film in history to center around Mob and LGBTQ+ themes simultaneously.
CONTEXT & OUR PROMISE
We aren't just pitching an idea—we’re executing a plan. We are currently scouting locations and finalizing our visual lookbook for each department to ensure every dollar is on the screen.
The Timeline:
- Pre-Production: Now – April 2026 (Casting, Rehearsal & Locations)
- Production: May 2026
- Post-Production: Summer 2026
- Premiere/Rewards: Fall 2026
Your Impact: Your donations aren't just funding; they are the tools we need to build this world. Your support covers:
- Production Design: Nailing the specific aesthetic we have curated.
- High-End Glass: Renting the specific lenses needed to give this a professional, cinematic finish.
- The Crew: Keeping our team fed and safe during a rigorous shoot.
Stretch Goals: If we hit 100%, every extra cent goes toward Festival Submissions. We want Flamboyance to have a run on the national circuit after we wrap.
JOIN THE FAMILY We can't bring this to life in a vacuum. We need your help to make it real.
