Ghost Town is a powerful and emotional story that explores the difficult journey toward recovery and focuses on the moment of making the decision to stop or let it consume you. The film follows Rick, a blue-collar alcoholic man in his 50s who has hit rock bottom. He has lost his job, is behind on bills, and is facing jail time if he is caught driving under the influence again.
His daughter Claire is called in to help her father get back on his feet and overcome his addiction. However, their relationship is strained due to Rick's past actions and neglect of Claire. As they work together toward Rick's recovery, their relationship begins to heal.
However, the road to recovery is never easy, and Rick is faced with the difficult choice of either giving in to his addiction or gaining the love of his daughter. The film explores the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the importance of family support in the recovery process.

A movie is written three times…

Pre-Production (November 2022- April 2023)
Writing Stage 1. This story has been in the works for 2 years, starting with the script being initially written and then going through a notable amount of revisions with the goal of having the best version of the script to start our production with. Along the way we have been assembling a great cast and crew, finding locations, and solving all other creative and logistical needs before our production.
Production (June 2023)
Writing stage 2. Now the fun part, the shoot. Everyone gets to finally come together for a 3-day shoot in southeastern Colorado. Partnering with the best crew in Colorado, we will able able to run a top-of-the-line production and ensure the story is captured with the highest standards to honor the hard work of our cast and crew as well as our donors.
During production, we will require a negative covid test prior to filming and constantly monitor the health and safety of the cast and crew.
Post-Production (June - August 2023)
Writing stage 3. Now at the final stage of the film, we write the film one more time. We take all of the elements we captured during production and begin to chisel and mold them into the final piece. This is a delicate and time-intensive process but the most rewarding as we are then able to share our story with you.
Film Festival Distribution (2023-2024)
For us, the goal of the festival circuit is the ability to expose our story to different audiences around the country (or even the world) that might not have had direct knowledge of Ghost Town. Our story is meant to be shared, talked about, and felt and there’s no better way to accomplish that than by showing our film in theaters far and wide.
Why we need your help
Making films is expensive and a lot of hard work. We've already put in a lot of hard work in writing the script, casting and as many of the pre-production details as we can put together up to this point such as finding the best crew we know, creating lookbooks, schedules, and many long meetings discussing the story and look.
But we need your help with the expensive part. Your contributions will help us pay for and acquire the locations we need, the proper film gear/lighting needed to visually tell our story with the highest quality, and allow our cast and crew to travel to and stay in the Arkansas Valley as we spend 3 days filming.
"Couldn't you just shoot this somewhere cheaper and more accessible" Sure, I hear you and the answer is yes we could. We could cut corners and do our best to replicate our vision elsewhere. However, that's not how we do things. When it comes to a story as important as this one we don't look to find the easy way out. Your pledges are not taken lightly and we have no intention of asking for your hard-earned money only to put in the minimum and hope it works out.
The ability of our cast and crew to shoot on location not only allows us to appropriately capture the true essence of our story but it allows us the ability to create this story with a unique look and feeling that truly gives our film something you haven't experienced before.
Having the appropriate funds also allows us access to proper equipment, wardrobe, set decoration, and all the other small details that add up to making our film become a proper experience for you, the audience.

Thom Chacon - Rick
Thom Chacon, the Durango, Colorado actor and balladeer, breathes life into the characters he inhabits on screen and in song.
His latest acting projects include a lead role in TV’s, Wild West Chronicles (S.3, Ep.11) and a supporting role and original song in the feature film, 5 Outlaws and a Saddle Bag.
Chacon’s current nine-song manifesto, Marigolds and Ghosts (Pie/ Appaloosa Records) is filled with his one-of-a-kind, hardscrabble American storytelling.
When he's not guiding fly-fishing in the Rockies by drift boat or horse, you can find Thom Chacon telling a story through music and film.

Melissa Dunn - Claire
Melissa Dunn is an actress based in Colorado, California and Utah. Growing up, she has always been drawn to creating art and storytelling. She fell in love with acting at the age of 13 when she started her first acting lessons.
One of her favorite things in the world is showing the humanity (the good, the bad, the ugly) of each character. She currently trains with the Rohrering Success, the Actors Voice, and the Write to Act Workshops in Colorado.
She is a karaoke enthusiast, a collector of quotes, and always looking for the best coffee shop in town.

We know we will not be the only film funding page you will come across recently or even today, and there are so many other causes needing donations. However, if you do feel like our campaign is fit for your support and pledge, know that you have our deepest gratitude. Your contribution means the world to us and will help bring our vision to life.
If you are unable to contribute monetarily but still want to support us, please consider sharing our project and help get the word out. Your efforts to spread the word are just as valuable to us and will go a long way in helping us reach our goal.
Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting our film. We truly appreciate your generosity and belief in our project. Don't forget to follow our progress on our social media pages and stay tuned for updates on the film's development.
