The Story
Synopsis: The year is 2008. Glitter covers the floor. Blankets of hair toss. We open on the sweaty scene of bodies dancing in hazy neon lights. She stands out in the crowd; an older, and a little bit loose. Our protagonist, Sandy, 53 years old, wears large hoop earrings, a cross around her neck, and two crosses on each back pocket of her low-rise jeans. She stumbles to the bar and meets a strange man with loads of cash to burn. Sandy leaves with Randall’s number and has her 18-year-old daughter, Madison, pick her up and take her home. Madison is the light of Sandy’s life. A hard worker with a mature disposition, Sandy often seeks advice from her Madison. When Madison gets into her dream university, the deadline to submit the school’s deposit ticks away. Sandy is sick in the stomach everytime Randall touches her. Despite her destain, Sandy has no other choice. She sacrifices her integrity throught the week by seducing Randall and planting the seeds of him paying her daughter’s tuition.
Budget Timeline and Execution: Our timeline of fundraising is broken into two portions. For our first portion, we plan on raising half of our budget, $18,000 which will go into production expenses. Once funds are met, we plan on pursuing the following in the order as follows; solidifying locations and dates, casting our characters, crewing, meeting with heads of departments (gaffer, production designer, director, director of photography, costume designer, producers) and organizing the execution of the project, renting equipment and making production purchases, rehearsing, and finally, shooting over the course of three days.
Once production has concluded, we will then go forth with our second round of fundraising. With the next batch of $15,000, we will focus on post-production. These expenses include the film’s marketing, submissions to film festivals, editing, coloring, and sound-designing. We plan on sustaining outreach by including followers in an email list for the film while simultaneously applying for grants.

Logline: The Garish mother of an intellect weaponizes her vanity with the intent of persuading her sugar daddy to pay for her daughter’s tuition.

The story is set in the recession-era escapism of the 2000’s. Hairspray, paisley, and brightly painted nails are essential to Sandy’s world.

Sandy meets Randall, a married investment banker. With the deadline of her daughter’s school deposit approaching, Sandy seduces Randall and changes her appearance to earn his appreciation and money.

With this film, we draw on themes of motherhood, sexuality, materialism, aging and sacrifices made by women for their daughters.

Some cinematic inspirations derive from the small-town feel evoked in “To Leslie”, the visual dynamic of power exchange in “Babygirl” and the colors and lights utilized in “Anora” and “Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down”.
