Mission Statement

HEART TO SEE is a short film that gives us a moment of reflection for the things that we do have, the opportunities and blessings that we’ve been granted, but all the while the hope of receiving our heart's desire. Help support a diverse cast and crew create this original captivating story.

The Story

!!!WE ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!!!

On his 30th birthday, pandora box is opened for Zach when his aunt, Jillian mentions to his mother, Carolyn that he looks like his father. The only thing is, Zach is losing his vision and hasn’t ever met his father and his wish is to meet him before he goes blind.

Heart To See is about the dynamics between family and wanting to receive something that may be out of touch. The reason why I want to tell this story is because I want to let people know that there is hope for what’s ahead and strength for what’s being refined.

The style of this film is through the lens of a captivating emotional slice of life journey. The essence of this film will be lyrical and poetic.

This Story I believe needs to be told because there is a beauty in connection, connecting to someone that you also may not completely understand or connecting to someone whose experience is completely different than yours. Being from a divorced household and having the ability to know my father, I know not that many people get that experience that I’ve been able to have. In this film we get to explore themes that revolve around a father not being present in his son’s life while exploring visual impairment through the lens of our main character and the cinematography of the film.

Don-Dimitri Joseph knows what it’s like to live with keratoconus and to have gradually poor vision and he also know what it’s like to have the desire to be around his father.

Some of the crew know what it’s like having family members who are visually impaired and what we bring to this film is truth and authenticity.

As filmmakers and creatives, we are alumni of some of the best film festivals in the world and we bring an extensive knowledge into this project.

There’s no better time than NOW to tell the stories that need to be told.

The structure and tone of this film is poetic, light-hearted, and tender. It has its moments, but it’s a film that pulls at your heart. We will incorporate our main character's perspective into the film, allowing us to be brought into his world.

We're looking to raise $10,280 to go into production, in all honesty that covers only the production cost, but for post-production of the film the goal is to use grant money to cover that expense. Each person that has joined on board believes in this film and I honestly believe that this story is one that needs to be told and made.

We have such an amazing cast and crew; some cast members that have been seen on some of the most popular shows and movies to hit the screens! Having them as part of this project means the world, but we do want to honor them by having the means to pay them, feed them, and value their time for being part of this story including our hard-working crew!

Asking for money isn't always the greatest feeling, but I believe that you partnering with us in creating this film is going to be life changing. I will say that having From the Heart Productions as our fiscal-sponsor, your funding/giving can be used as a tax-write off which is amazing!

There's an excellence in which this story needs in every single area and that is what we are striving for.

If we achieve our goal for this campaign, here's how we plan to use whatever comes in after our 100% goal

$500 and over -- press, marketing, more festival submissions, and the FEATURE FILM version!

Help fund this project because you have the heart to see the potential in getting this story out to the world. We want this story to reach as many people as possible, including YOU! Your giving is a token of your trust in us! Btw, like we mentioned earlier, your giving can be used as a tax write-off and you also get an incentive! On the right side of the screen, you can scroll through the different perks and select whichever one you feel in your heart to give. This story is original and I believe will have a lasting impact for each viewer that gets the chance to see this film, so once again we say THANK YOU for going on this journey with us!

We really appreciate any and all support! We would love for you to follow our social media page and share with your friends and family!
