The Story
A 1989 MIAMI COMING OF AGE STORY !

Jenny: Intelligent, a silly, over-zealous, radiant beauty. The real center of her mom’s life is the family’s pride and joy for her moral goodness. Jenny is brought into the world with the cocaine trade in full blast.Although her mom Mara did her best to provide normal events like a Quinceañera, private Catholic school, and Beauty Pageants, all possible with cocaine tarnished funds, the price was too high to make it worth it. As the law closes its vice-grip on her family, Jenny faces the hardest decision of her young life. But she keeps her head on. She is brave, selfless, and faithful, she will do what is right by everyone, but she’s ultimately a vulnerable child growing up before HER time.

MARA: Beautiful, fun, tough Venezuelan beauty with a deadly temper and a sharp business sense. The youngest of five, growing up she always controlled and distributed the food, her single mom of five, was able to provide. Growing up in poverty, seeing her mom leave her cheating father and struggle to put food on the table with a factory job packing socks. Mara promised herself that she would help her mom and siblings out of poverty. Her choices for a better life started on the right path, as a secretary in the Caracas immigration department, Mara eventually derailed when she met and fell in love with Alfredo, Jenny's dad.

FLACO: The cute, savvy, tough, caring, protective uncle, addicted to alcohol, drugs, and women. Though he introduces MARA and ALFREDO to the drug trade, he is the father figure and voice of reason in Jenny’s life. Tio FLACO is with the family through all of the ups and downs, from Venezuela to Miami, a ride-or-die member of the small cartel. He pushes for more money, cocaine, and influence. It seems, however, that he snortsmore than his share of the cocaine. And after a deal goes wrong, he is on the run and runs right to JENNY for help. With her mom and U.S. MARSHAL coming down on her to turn him in, Jenny is smart enough to know that being an addict doesn’t make him a vengeful criminal. Turning Tio FLACO in or not tests Jenny’s moral compass, loyalty, and intuition. One of Her Choices she will have to re live in her life.
PJ: The one bright light in Jenny’s tough young life. He is her first love and is incredibly loyal to Jenny. He comes from a good stable home, and his parents recognizes that Jenny’s family is in trouble and want PJ out of her life. He stands his ground and remains Jenny’s biggest supporter and ally.
