The Story
• Here With You •
This is a relationship thriller taking place in the remote woods of upstate New York. The characters Forest and Sadie construct their own demise, and we see this in their desire to control the other person and use them merely for their own gain. Lost with no proper ambition and goals, Forest uses his father's money and resources to waste away his days in a never-ending vacation cycle.
Meanwhile, Sadie weaponizes her beauty, in turn controlling Forest to help her career through his connections. Mentally trapped, Forest resorts to substances and alcohol to subdue the stress Sadie puts on him.
Ultimately, their selfishness unfolds into their own tragedy, as their delusions of each other manifest into their actions toward one another.
Why us? Why this? Why Here? Why now?
• Why Us? •
The majority of us have either seen or felt the repercussions of toxic love. Our writer of the project, Tyler, wants to use this film as a voice for those who feel lost and find themselves struggling in an unhealthy relationship. Through his own experience, he wants to emphasize the loneliness of being with someone who doesn't truly love and respect you. Our director, Lauren, wishes to create a visually engaging world that displays the easily warped perspectives one can form when in love. She wants to take the normalities of destructive love to the extreme and show how the differing perspective in relationships form nothing but chaos.
• Why This? •
Although Here With You is a fictional drama, it’s something that at its core, so many people can relate to. It embodies the normalities which easily form in an unhealthy relationship, such as gaslighting, an obsessive fear of cheating, miscommunication, and most importantly, the feeling of losing control over yourself.
• Why Here? •
In the isolation of upstate New York, not only are our characters forced to confront each other one-on-one, but we wanted to emphasize how the seclusion drives them deeper into their own delusions. Forest and Sadie become fully consumed by each other's presence, as the two begin to unpack the reality of their relationship. Lastly, the location is captivatingly cinematic and is practically begging to be the setting of a romantic upstate thriller.
• Why Now? •
In 2022, the Merriam-Webster Word of the Year was gaslighting. With the rise of social media, people are more insecure than ever and many relationships are seeing the effects of this. Here With You is narrative many people would find engaging and entertaining in this day and age.
• Set Location •
The project is set to shoot in upstate New York, in Duchess County. Set at a lovely vacation home, surrounded by woods and mother nature. The production would last for about 3-4 days.
The Crew will be staying at an AirBnB 10 minutes away from the shoot location, so every will have their own space and feel comfortable on set and after wrapping hours.
• Where you come in! •
We are currently in pre-production for the film, working very hard to plan and prep everything for our shoot at the end of August the 24th through the 27th.
We are very fortunate to have access to an incredible location upstate free of charge. So, the money raised would be a lifeline for Tyler and Lauren. Living as a young artist in New York City is costly, therefore this campaign will help propel our production forward and allow us to use the best equipment and crew available for hire.
Our script is finished, our crew assembling, and auditions are being submitted for the role of Sadie, we're on a roll! With this timeline, we'll 100% shoot by the end of August, and have a first cut of the short film by the end of September. We hope to submit this project to Fall and Winter film festivals in the new year. For all of our supporters of the project, we hope to have a first screening link live through Vimeo by the first week of October.
If we ever surpass our production budget goal, we hope to put that money into extensive post-production fine-tuning, hiring talented sound designers, and original musicians for authentic scores, and submitting to as many national film festivals as possible!

About This Team
Tyler Vincent - Writer, Actor
Graduated from Ithaca College in 2020 with a degree in film production. He currently is working as an actor/filmmaker, always aiming to learn new styles and techniques, he studies acting at the Barrow Group and MN Studios in New York City. Recently signed with Manager Erika Finn, of Citizen Skull Management, he is chasing his dreams of becoming a professional actor in the industry.
Lauren Adler - Director, Editor, Producer
Lauren is a recent 2023 graduate of The New School, where she earned her degree in film production and media studies. She is currently working as a freelance video editor, but ever since her youth, she has always been drawn to the art of storytelling. While directing, she believes in the philosophy that every shot should have an intention behind it, as the beauty of cinema is within the visual world you create. She is honored to be directing her 6th film, Here With You, alongside her incredibly talented and innovative team.
Sabrina Katz - Assistant Director
Also a recent graduate, Sabrina graduated in Spring of 2023 from Ithaca College with a B.A. in Documentary Studies and Production. Coming off of the successful completion of her documentary short, Growing Pains, she is currently a freelance producer hoping to use her passion and skill in film production and coordination to help elevate incredible projects such as Here with You. She is so excited and honored to be a part of this team!
