Honor to the Father
New York City, New York | Series
Teen, Drama
Honor to the Father is a dark comedic parable told amidst a suffocating, catholic school environment. We pursue the gray areas between teaching morals and applying them. Experiencing nostalgia, shock, and presumably a bit of “post-religious-upbringing-PTSD,” every viewer can relate to this tale.

The Story
Our Parable:
The Book of Genesis, According to Stas (our first episode) introduces the routine world of First Friday masses and militant campus rules from the chaotic point of view of our first lead, ANASTASIA STRAUSS (the odd ball). While this undiagnosed, untreated, ticking time bomb rassles her rank in the status quo, the other ranks on the totem pole are introduced: JOSIE CLARK (the most popular girl in school), MARY WOODE (her disciple), MARCUS FRISCELLO (the jock), and BEN HAYES (the good guy). As each character narrates their own “book,” the layers of scandal, betrayal, and God’s will push our lead characters to their breaking points. All will have one thing in common... exploring the turmoil of today’s coming of age initiations under the eyes of the Father, the Son, and the Holy... FATHER DONAHUGH (president of the school). Over the course of the series, our leads will face the parties, the drugs, the sex, and the mental illnesses many of us faced in our youth, only with the added obstacle of a corrupt, juvie-like school system. They explore SUBSTANCES, SUICIDE, and worst of all... PUBLIC SCHOOL KIDS.
Why Should This Story Be Told?
Pizzulli believes that previous portrayals of Catholic schools in media tend to rely heavily on stereotypes and exaggerations. With the astounding amount of students currently enrolled in private schools in the U.S. (2.5 million not including alumni and faculty), Rachel knows first hand how engaging this series would be to the community.
Why Should This Story Be Told Now?
In the last three years, social media has proved an interest in trauma bonds among the current youth. Algorithms show common interest in topics such as mental health, addictions, self-diagnosis, and religious trauma. Exploring these themes has proven successful in comparable series such as Euphoria and 13 Reasons Why. Honor to the Father is the first series to delve into these themes within the niche of private school.
Why Should She Be the One to Tell It?
Simple- Because she lived it.

About This Team
CREATOR
We believe in god, Rachel Pizzulli , creator of heaven and this show.
Professionally trained by Berg Studios, the Groundlings, LACComedy, with a Bachelor’s from AMDA College of Performing Arts, she has spent her time in the industry crossing genres and crossing the camera.
With acting credits attached to Netflix, Hallmark, and Tubi, one can also find her work across festivals and community cable.
Pizzulli’s production experience includes MUA work, PA work, script supervision, and now her debut as Executive Producer and Head Writer.
As an act of contrition, Pizzulli pulls parables from her upbringing in the Catholic school system to shed light on dark corners in a fun, boisterous manner.
ABOVE THE LINE
Introducing the latest addition to the HTTF production team, Stormy Gorence and Kira Upin.
Our Assistant Camera and Producer, Kira Upin, graduated from Duke University. Wrapping a feature film this month, Upin joins Honor to the Father just in time to bring her expertise to pre-production.
Stormy Gorence, also an Executive Producer, joins our show while simultaneously attending UCLA film school. Having just wrapped a feature as well, Gorence joins us at the perfect time.
