The Story
This journey to produce Hooked began when Allen started a Meetup group in Seattle to gather people who would be interested in pooling together their resources to make this movie possible. Over 300 people initially joined the group and over 100 people showed up for the first meeting.
The group was a mix of professionals and volunteers. Some people were not able to be on set because of their jobs but are helping after hours. Others used their vacation or putting aside time to be a part of this team which is made up of people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
We are working toward being in production the first three weeks of August. Here are five ways you can help us get there!
1. Donate: For us to be able to make this film, we’ll need to reach our goal and every bit counts! Thank you for your generosity.
2. Follow the project: By reaching 1,000 followers, we become eligible for some amazing perks courtesy of Seed and Spark, such as a hard drive to store the film, free film festival submissions, and more. You are only one click away to following us and showing your support, AND IT'S FREE!
3. Loan: If you see something on our Wish List page (see tabs on top of this page) that you can loan or give to the production, let us know! This could include: frequent flier miles to fly out cast, hosting our out-of-town actors or crew in Seattle, cooking meals for the cast and crew, loaning costumes, and more!
4. Partner with us: We’re looking to partner with organizations that fight human trafficking and organizations that bring awareness toward autism. We’d love to promote what you do as we create this movie.
5. Share Hooked with others: If our story speaks to you, chances are someone else you know will be interested too. A film is nothing without an audience; help us find ours. Send our website to your friends and family with a note letting them know why you decided to join us and encourage them to do the same.
We are fiscally sponsored by From the Heart Productions, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that sponsors films that contribute toward society. This means that your donation to this campaign is tax-deductible! Any non-cash donation toward the Wish List is tax-deductible as well.
