here's what we can still achieve...

From Award-winning director and cinematographer Clarissa de los Reyes (2020 Tribeca Film Institute Adrienne Shelly Filmmaker Award ) and creator Mel House (2019 Sundance New Voice's Lab Finalist ) comes a DARK COMEDY SERIES, so funny it hurts...

Marie (Mel House) is a people-pleasing New York City mom who thought she’d have money, success, and respect by middle-age. Instead, she’s working too many survival jobs and failing to meet her family’s expectations.

But Marie’s the kind of woman you can count on to swallow her anger and put on a BRIGHT FUCKING SMILE. When she gets an opportunity to step into the role of a sexy powerful Goddess, Marie thinks she’s finally getting what she deserves.

But her world is turned upside down, when a video of her unleashing her anger becomes a viral sensation. Now, Marie will take us on a wildly entertaining adventure to see if facing her biggest fears can set her free.

HOT ANGRY MOM uses humor to dive into our collective fears about female anger and asks…WHAT IF ANGER IS A SUPERPOWER?

This series is our love letter to all the mamas who are going through unprecedented challenges as they balance their needs with the needs of their loved ones in a chaotic and triggering world. Through laughter, we create space, even as we join the conversations begun by Audre Lorde, Deborah Cox, Soraya Chemaly, and Rebecca Traister, to unpack harmful anger myths and empower women to embrace their own messy beautiful selves. When women tap into our POWER, we can create a more SAFE and EQUITABLE world.

Right now, we are raising funds to shoot Seaon One of HOT ANGRY MOM (8 six-minute episodes) in late August 2021. The majority of our budget is going towards equipment, crew, cast, locations, etc. After fees associated with the cost of raising money, we must set aside approximately $3,000 to pay a Covid-safety officer to be present on set, and for other costs assoicated with keeping our cast and crew safe during these challenging times. That means that we are actually putting $24,000 towards production quality, or $3000 per episode. That's a pretty tight budget, but with our team, we're gonna make it look AMAZING!
