WELCOME TO HOUSE OF FLIES:
PHASE TWO!
After six months apart, Mason and Avery reunite for a secluded weekend in the forest, hoping the time alone will help them decide whether their relationship can be salvaged.
Their plans immediately go awry when they arrive at their StayBNB and discover that their hosts, an older couple named Joseph and Tara, are still there when they aren’t supposed to be.
It is only the first in a series of increasingly strange occurrences that test Mason and Avery’s growth, their trust in one another and the unresolved damage between them. As the weekend closes in around them, the couple is forced to confront not only the viciousness of seeking closure, but the disturbing truth behind their hosts.

House of Flies began with a nightmare that writer/director Alex Havens couldn’t shake.
That single unsettling image grew into a story about fractured intimacy, trust and the terrible things people may uncover when they go looking for closure. Alex developed the film as a love letter to the tactile, atmospheric cabin-in-the-woods horror of the 1970s and ’80s, reimagined through a queer lens and grounded in the emotional deterioration of a relationship.
Our goal is to create horror that feels intimate before it becomes terrifying: a film where emotional vulnerability and physical danger steadily become impossible to separate.
THE SUCCESS OF PHASE ONE
During Phase One, our supporters helped transform a screenplay into a project people could see, experience and rally behind.
We created a concept trailer using lenses from the collection of legendary cinematographer William A. Fraker, whose work includes Rosemary’s Baby.

We hosted a virtual script read-through with select Indiegogo backers as the audience, featuring a post-reading Q&A w/ Alex Havens, Cayman Cardiff, Sky Crystal, Amanda Medlin, Nicholas Heart, Gavin Hensley, and Leah Colon. We produced our first poster and concept art, designed a prototype Creature and brought the project directly to horror audiences through an interactive booth and six-date Spring/Summer 2026 tour.

The project also completed a successful festival run, where the feature screenplay earned three awards. Along the way, we met horror fans face-to-face, shared exclusive merchandise and began building a community around the film.

where it received Finalist status for Best Feature Screenplay.
That first phase proved there is interest in this world. Now, we need to demonstrate what the people behind it can accomplish together.
INTRODUCING: SAVE YOURSELF!
After clawing his way out of a shallow grave, an amnesiac seeks refuge with a mysterious woman, only to discover that neither of them are what they appear to be.
A man awakens beneath the dirt with no memory of who he is or how he got there. After digging himself out of a shallow grave, he discovers what appears to be an isolated burial site surrounded by multiple unmarked graves.
Disoriented and injured, he makes his way through the wilderness until he finds a lone residence in a clearing. A seemingly kind but reserved woman welcomes him inside and offers to help.
As he searches for answers, the safety of the house begins to feel uncertain.
The House of Flies concept trailer demonstrated the feature’s world, atmosphere and visual intentions.
Save Yourself will demonstrate the people responsible for bringing that vision to life.
The short is a standalone narrative with its own visual identity, but it shares important creative DNA with House of Flies: confined tension, uncertain trust, and characters forced to question the person standing across from them.
It will star two of the leads from House of Flies, giving them the opportunity showcase their ability to anchor and command the four-character ensemble that surrounds House of Flies. Alex will write and direct, working alongside key producers, the camera department, stunt team and other department heads being assembled for the feature.
ONE CAMPAIGN.
TWO CONNECTED GOALS.
Our Phase Two goal is $4,000.
$2,350 will support the production and post-production of Save Yourself, including the essential resources needed to photograph, edit, finish and deliver the short.
$1,000 will support continuing House of Flies efforts, including targeted submissions, updated marketing materials, audience outreach and selected public appearances.
$650 will support essential project operations and the infrastructure required to keep both efforts organized, visible and moving forward.
We are not asking this campaign to finance the entire feature. We are asking it to accomplish the next clear, attainable milestone: complete Save Yourself, prove the capabilities of the core creative team and strengthen the path carrying House of Flies toward formal financing and production.
We have already shown audiences the world we want to build.
Now, we’re ready to show what this team can do.

By contributing, following or sharing this campaign, you become part of the journey bringing Save Yourself to the screen and moving House of Flies closer to production.
Independent horror has always thrived because passionate audiences were willing to embrace bold ideas before the rest of the industry caught up.
Together, we can show the industry and the genre how much a grassroots production can accomplish.
