Six juicy episodes at around 10-12 minutes each, about the journey of one young woman in search of validation as a visual artist, who struggles with her inner demons when she realizes that her most famous art piece may or may not have been created from her own idea. Yup, the tea is H O T !

As a young artist trying to find my place in the industry, I started to look for role models in powerful women in media... I noticed that the world isn’t always cheering for them. Actually, it seems that the line between imposter and trailblazer can get real blurry.
I started to wonder:
This project became a way for me to unpack this, make sense of it, and engage others in challenging conversations around the topic. I hope that this story feels as cathartic, validating and liberating for other women (and folks who care about women) as it did for me.

Como una joven artista buscando cual es mi lugar en la industria, comencé a buscar un rol a seguir en mujeres con poder… y me di cuenta que el mundo no siempre está ahí apoyandonos. De hecho, parece que la línea entre impostor y pionero es bastante delgada. Comencé a preguntarme: ¿Qué significa ser parte de un mundo en donde eres una mujer a la cual todos te ven como una impostora?
Este proyecto se convirtió en una forma de analizar este tema y hacer que también otros se cuestionen el problema. Espero que esta historia sea algo catártico, válido, y liberador para otras mujeres (y gente a la que le importa las mujeres) como lo siento yo. Ah, y entretenido también, obvio!!
Come giovane artista in cerca del mio posto nell'industria cinematografica, ho iniziato a cercare dei punti di riferimento tra le attrici e registe di successo. Ho notato che le persone non fanno sempre il tifo per loro. Anzi, la linea tra impostora e pioniera è spesso molto sottile. E quindi mi sono chiesta: cosa significa per una donna stare in un mondo in cui è vista come un’impostora?
Per me, questo progetto è diventato un modo per approfondire questo tema e coinvolgere gli altri in conversazioni stimolanti sull'argomento. Spero che questa storia risulti tanto catartica e liberatoria per altre donne (e per chi, in generale, tiene alle donne) quanto lo è stata per me. E anche divertente, anzi soprattutto divertente!

It’s not your fault, it’s just because women don’t get the same exposure and recognition that men do within intellectual spaces - and especially in the fine arts. The result is... we kinda get the message that there aren’t as many talented and brilliant women out there. *Mouth drops to the floor*

Veronica Maccari is an actress, writer, and filmmaker from Italy whose intelligence, quirkiness, and creative courage shine in everything she does, on and off camera. Some of her favorite projects include the feature film RECEPTION, the LA production of the hit off-Broadway show MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING and her short film FOREIGNERS' TALES, which she wrote and starred in as the lead. Her most recent short film, POLLY POCKET, which she produced, wrote, and starred in as the lead, has been selected by 18 international film festivals and has won 5 awards so far, including Best Actress and Best Emerging Artist.
Yaniv Waisman is a producer originally from Venezuela and based in Los Angles. He has worked in the industry for more than 20 years, 10 of which include producing TV commercials for the hispanic market. He has also produced festival favorite shorts films THERAPY, MIRROR, and EQUATION. Yaniv is also the founder and Executive Director of Los Cortos, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Latinx short filmmakers.
Shayda Frost is a filmmaker with roots from Tehran to Tennessee, and a background in design and performance. Recently, Shayda worked with director Catherine Hardwicke as Co-Producer on the series DON'T LOOK DEEPER for Quibi TV/ Roku starring Don Cheadle; and the Sony Pictures Gina Rodriguez-led feature, MISS BALA. Currently, Shayda is on-location in Bulgaria shadowing her mentor, director Martin Campbell, on his Liam Neeson-led action-thriller film, MEMORY.
Her short film FANGIRL, which she wrote and directed, is currently collecting awards on the festival circuit!

We’re raising funds to shoot 6 episodes later this year after a beautiful summer of pre-production, which we’ll begin shortly after we close our campaign. The majority of our budget is going towards equipment, crew, cast, locations, etc.
We'll use around $40,000 for production, $3,000 of which will cover Covid-related costs to ensure we’re keeping our cast and crew safe. That means that we’re actually putting $35,000 towards shooting, or about $6,000 per episode, and the rest of your contributions will take care of post-production. Funny how a good chunk of cash turns out to be a pretty tight budget once you break it all down, huh?
Yup, making movie magic ain't cheap... But it's mad cool and you know ittt! Plus, it’s all gonna be worth it when we rack up all those awards and you’ll be strutting down the red carpet with us! Yes, we're already strategizing on a kickass festival run and looking at some awesome platforms to deliver our series right into your screens!

We come from Italy, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Canada and good ol’ United States. We quadrilingual, b*tch.
Veronica Maccari is an actress, writer, and filmmaker from Italy whose intelligence, quirkiness, and creative courage shine in everything she does, on and off camera. Some of her favorite projects include the feature film RECEPTION, the LA production of the hit off-Broadway show MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING and her short film FOREIGNERS' TALES, which she wrote and starred in as the lead. Her most recent short film, POLLY POCKET, which she produced, wrote, and starred in as the lead, has been selected by 18 international film festivals and has won 5 awards so far, including Best Actress and Best Emerging Artist.
Yaniv Waisman is a producer originally from Venezuela and based in Los Angles. He has worked in the industry for more than 20 years, 10 of which producing TV commercials for the hispanic market. He has also produced festival favorite shorts films THERAPY, MIRROR and EQUATION and now our IMPOSTER! Yaniv is also the founder and Executive Director of Los Cortos, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Latinx short filmmakers.
Shayda Frost is a filmmaker with roots from Tehran to Tennessee, and a background in design and performance. Recently, Shayda worked with director Catherine Hardwicke as Co-Producer on the series DON'T LOOK DEEPER for Quibi TV/ Roku starring Don Cheadle; and the Sony Pictures Gina Rodriguez-led feature, MISS BALA. Currently, Shayda is on-location in Bulgaria shadowing her mentor, director Martin Campbell, on his Liam Neeson-led action-thriller film, MEMORY.
Her short film FANGIRL, which she wrote and directed, is currently collecting awards on the festival circuit!
