The Story
It's about identity and vulnerability, about how water carries our memories:
On a winter night at an indoor hot spring and sauna, two male friends encounter a young boy who has been separated from his mother during bath time. As they help him navigate the unfamiliar space, the three embark on an extraordinary journey that blurs the boundaries between past and present.

Why this story
Within many Asian family cultures, young girls are often treated as fully fledged women, while young boys are rarely regarded as men. We are raised primarily by our mothers, and in some families, the dynamic can even resemble a form of “widowed parenting.” I find this imbalance in the perception of selfhood fascinating. Similar asymmetries appear across other cultural contexts as well. For instance, while working on screenplays, I noticed that the English language contains countless affectionate nicknames for male genitalia, yet offers almost none for female genitalia.
Asians are often perceived as introverted and reserved—a stereotype reinforced both by external perceptions and by the social environments in which many of us grow up. Yet the curiosity and desires that belong to the human condition rarely disappear; they are simply suppressed or denied. What eventually surfaces, therefore, resembles only faint ripples on the water, while powerful undercurrents continue to surge beneath.

Why now?
We have successfully wrapped principal photography, and now we need your support to complete post-production and bring the film to audiences around the world through film festivals.
Our goal is to raise $5,000, which will help cover the following costs:
- Editing: $600
- Color Grading: $800
- Sound Design: $1,000
- Original Score / Composition: $600
- Film Festival Submission Fees: $2,000
To date, our team has already invested more than $22,000 into the development and production of this film. Your contribution will help us complete the final stages of the project and give this story the opportunity to reach a broader audience.
With your support, we can share this intimate exploration of the Asian queer experience with film festival audiences and communities around the world.
