Indoc follows Daniel, a disaffected college student, as he is seduced by a charismatic but sadistic White Supremacist in a post-2016 presidential election New York City. Our film explores the radicalization of young white men to the Alt-Right and pulls no punches in portraying it's viciousness.

Mission Statement

Many less politically inclined Americans may only know about the Alt-Right as some sort of abstract concept. This film will be a face to the name for those people, young and old, and force them to confront how easy it is for young, white men to get radicalized in A Post-Trump Society.

The Story

Indoc tells the story of Daniel, a white college student living in New York City in 2016. After the election of Donald Trump, Daniel finds himself at odds with classmates and unsure of his place in this new world. As he's out one day at a protest against the incoming administration, he runs into a girl who mocks the crowd of protestors.

They hit it off, she gives him her phone number. A tale as old as time.

Our film, Indoc, picks up a week later when the girl, Taylor, invites Daniel to a party in deep Brooklyn. Though Taylor is there, Daniel is most taken by a charming but mysterious man named Harry. Harry seems a little off-beat, but he takes an interest in Daniel and seems to treat him like he's important. Which, to Daniel, means the world. As the night goes on and the group gets drunker and rowdier, Harry starts to reveal more about who he is, what he believes, and what he sees in Daniel.

Before he even knows what's happened, Daniel finds himself placed in an impossible position that will force him to take a side and potentially alter the outcome of his life.

At its core INDOC is a thriller about assimilation. It’s about feeling lonely, and searching for community. Only in this case, the community are white supremacists. We want the audience to feel what Daniel, our lonely protagonist does. Due to this the hope is to make a film that is deeply subjective. We see what Daniel does, and hopefully worry for him as he falls deeper in the hole.

Our hope is to make an ugly, difficult film that can shed light on the communities that have rapidly seized power in our country. And by understanding them better, learn how to better grapple with them. We believe it is a vitally important movie to make today as every day we are confronted with the realities of a new right wing in America, one that openly embraces the aesthetics and ideals of Fascist communities.

Though we are funding a large portion of the film ourselves, we cannot do it alone. That's where you, the generous benefactor who believes in the artistic merit of film, comes in. Your contribution will go to supporting the creation of this film and covering costs across all stages - Pre-ProductionProduction, and Post-Production - Costs such as:

  • Insurance: Insuring a film production is expensive, particularly for Independent filmmakers.
  • Equipment: We need to rent a variety of camera equipment for the shoot such as the camera, lenses, lighting gear, and grip items such as c-stands, sandbags, flags, etc.
  • Paying our Cast and Crew: As working artists ourselves, a non-negotiable is to fairly compensate our Cast and Crew for their labor. From our lead actors to Gaffers to Assistant Directors to Focus Pullers- It's only with their hard work on our shoot days that we'll make it across the finish line of our production.
  • Food/Catering: Nobody works well on an empty stomach.
  • Transportation: Providing safe transportation for both our equipment and our cast/crew to location.
  • Post-Production Costs: Once a film is shot surely that means it's done, right? Unfortunately, no. Whether it's editing, sound design/mixing, music licensing or color correction, your donation will help make sure we cover all of it and deliver the best product we can.

The list above is not at all comprehensive. Filmmaking is an artistic labor of love and unexpected costs come about. It takes a hardworking village of people to get it all done. We would love for you to join that village and become a part of the Indoc team.

However, if you don't have the means to help our campaign at this time, it's okay! We appreciate you taking the time to read to the end of this. If you can, we'd love it if you could share this on any of your personal social accounts to spread the word if you would be so willing. Thank you!
