As Dee tries to maintain her online persona, she finds herself in a series of hilarious misadventures. Director’s Statement:

I find it fascinating that an influencer’s job revolves around sharing their everyday life while simultaneously selling products. They often appear composed and polished in front of the camera, but beneath the surface, there’s often more chaos than meets the eye. A tension exists between the audience’s desire to see the influencer’s true self and the influencer’s efforts to maintain a flawless image.

As a director, I see this conflict as a rich source of comedy and entertainment. Erin and I created the character Dee to humorously explore the journey of becoming more authentic while building an online brand. The more Dee tries to curate her life for the audience, the more her real, unfiltered self seeps through. It’s in these moments of contradiction—between perfection and mess—that the true heart of her story unfolds.

Dee’s messy real life will be shot in a polished cinematic style, while her online persona reflects the raw, unrefined feel of social media content. This juxtaposition of visuals offers the audience both the beauty of real life and the rawness of creating content for the internet. These dual perspectives add a layer of polish without losing the influencer’s self-made touch. Yes, it will look beautiful, but Influenced still captures the authenticity of self-produced content.

The principal production company backing this project is Brilliant Move. They have produced short films and feature length movies. This means that whatever amount of support you give, we will use it effectively to create the first full season of Influenced.
