Mission Statement

The concept of identity and belonging is difficult in an ever-changing world, especially when people do not understand how their actions can affect others. By communicating this through a classic tv sitcom format, we hope the audience can relate to the characters and their everyday struggles.

The Story

it's all about Tuesday will be recorded in front of a live studio audience...

Although it was Sheila's idea to add a coffee bar to local mom-and-pop bookstore Harvey's Tales, she was denied the barista position in favor of Tuesday Shikany, a quirky and mysterious newbie who claims to have quite a bit of barista experience. Although anyone who has been to a coffee shop can see that Tuesday is severely inexperienced, it's the way she can connect with customers that makes her the favorite over veteran bookseller Sheila Munder.

Tuesday wants to connect and attract local college students by creating a special 38.7% black coffee discount only on Tuesdays. Despite what Sheila thinks, the discount is a huge success. Meanwhile, Sheila decides to host a book signing with a local author to try and one-up Tuesday. However, when her book signing lands on a Tuesday, things get tricky as Tuesday and Sheila struggle to share the spotlight.

it's all about Tuesday is a television sitcom, with this specific story being the pilot episode. Although comedic and focusing on the situational comedy between these characters, the themes take on a more serious tone. The concept of identity is weaved throughout, with several characters struggling with imposter syndrome and the feeling of not belonging. In addition, characters' realize the power of their actions and how they affect other people, whether that be friends, family, or strangers. Everyone can relate to feeling like they do not belong in a place that they should be in, especially in an academic or career setting, and that is what this pilot episode of it's all about Tuesday focuses on tackling.

This project was inspired by a variety of classic sitcoms that were filmed on a three-walled set, with multiple cameras, and accompanied by a laugh track. Sitcoms that focus on people coming together over a common cause, like Cheers, Full House, and The Brady Bunch. These stories focus on groups of people coming together as a family.

This project also takes heavy inspiration from sitcoms - both new and old - that focus on a strong ensemble cast, like Friends and Modern Family.

it's all about Tuesday is set in the real Harvey's Tales, located in Geneva, Illinois. We partnered with owners Roxanne and Chuck Osborne to help bring Harvey's Tales to the small screen through this project. Although based on a real location, we, unfortunately, cannot travel from Arizona to Illinois to film in the store. Instead, to stay true to sitcoms, we will be building a three-walled set that will bring Harvey's Tales to life. If you're interested in learning more about Roxanne and Chuck's incredible store, check out their website and follow them on Instagram.

On behalf of the crew behind it's all about Tuesday, I just want to thank you for spending some time checking out our crowdfunding page and learning more about this project. Television may have drastically evolved, but the powerful storytelling that it provides has not changed. With planning to film in November 2023, having the opportunity to test the waters of television production by making this project would allow my crew and me to tackle something completely out of our comfort zones, while still telling a compelling story about identity and community.

it's all about Tuesday could not get made without your help! Any pledge amount is greatly appreciated. Even if you are unable to contribute at this time, please give our page a follow, check out our Instagram, and share with your friends. At the end of the day, a project about building a community cannot be made without a community backing it.

About This Team

We are continuing to grow our talented team with more young filmmakers as we gear up to film in Fall 2023. Until then, meet the core five working hard to bring it's all about Tuesday to life.

Writer & Director - C.J. Metz

CJ was inspired to create its all about Tuesday from working at the actual Harvey's Tales throughout his senior year of high school. Having grown up watching sitcoms and wanting to go into the television industry, turning his senior film into a pilot episode felt like a no-brainer. Even though writing is his true passion, CJ's newfound love of directing has allowed him to better connect to the characters he writes to make them feel more realistic and relatable. His favorite sitcom is Modern Family, his favorite book is if on a winter's night a traveler, and his go-to coffee order is an iced coffee with white mocha, vanilla, and oat milk.

Producer - Jocelyn Kate

Jocelyn is double majoring in Film and Media Production and English. As an avid reader, Jocelyn is pursuing a career in the film industry with the hopes of bringing stories to life. She hopes to one day to be a producer who specializes in book-to-screen film translations. When not lost in a book, Jocelyn can be found blasting musical soundtracks, binge-watching reality TV, or crying over a Disney film. Her favorite sitcom is Big Bang Theory, her favorite book is Six of Crows, and her go-to coffee order is a caramel macchiato.

Cinematographer - Will Seifert

Will is a rising senior with a focus in Cinematography, which has been his passion from an early age. He has experience in cinematography, editing, screenwriting, grip work, and occasionally acting, and is hoping to use these skills to help him break into the film industry after college. His favorite sitcom is, and we quote, "Uhhhh idk," his favorite book is Grapes of Wrath, and he does not have a go-to coffee order because he does not drink coffee.

Editor - Gavin Garrity

Our fearless editor! Given complicated tasks, Gavin completes all of them and makes it look easy in the process. His passion for editing shines through in his hard work and dedication to this project. His favorite sitcom is Regular Show, his favorite book is Lord of the Rings, and his go-to tea order is green tea.

Production Designer - Ezzy Campana

Ezzy's artistic capabilities blow all of us away, and we are all excited to watch as she brings the world of Harvey's Tales to life through a three-walled set on a soundstage. Her favorite sitcom is That 70's Show, her favorite book is The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and her go-to coffee order is a vanilla oat milk iced latte.
