The Story
After releasing her new cookbook and growing a following on social media, Susan receives an invitation to be a guest chef on Good Morning Portland's cooking segment Just Keep Cooking. During her time on the show, her co-host Scott tries everything to get her kicked off. His jealousy consumes him, and in turn, he creates a toxic environment for the two. With inspirations like segments from the Food Network and TV shows like The Bear, we are looking to tackle the anxiety of performing on live television alongside the difficulty of being mistreated within the workplace.
Have you ever tried so hard to reach a dream, but the world just wants to get you down? Susan's battle is a beam of inspiration to the viewer as she harnesses her determination. Audiences can resonate with her not only with her physical struggle, but her emotional ones too.

WHY THIS ?
As we enter our final year at PSU, we’re aiming to create an ambitious, memorable project that strengthens our portfolios and opens doors for future opportunities. We want to explore the reality of this anxiety and convey the emotions well, but without funding, that vision is hard to achieve. That's where you come in! Anything from $1 to $500 would assist us in developing this idea into a professional piece of work.
Just Keep Cooking! focuses on the struggle to achieve your dreams against all of the odds. The hard work does pay off in the end. Through satire, comedy, and a dramatic showcase, our actors communicate this message on a small but very serious scale.
WHY NOW ?
Now more than ever, Portland's independent film industry is starting to grow. Independent films, shorts, music videos, and other media projects are continuing to pop up all over the city. Along with those projects, Just Keep Cooking! Fits the bill for a project made for Portland and by Portland. Showcasing local talent through acting, cooking, visual style, and directing.
HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE ?
By reading over our Seed & Spark, keeping up to date with our Instagram, and talking about our film, you are already helping contribute. However, we are also seeking financial support in the form of pledging or purchasing our incentives. The more that we can raise, the better!
We would love to take Just Keep Cooking! to film festivals across the PNW and beyond. We want to showcase our work and put our name out into the world!

WHAT'S NEW?
The Just Keep Cooking Crew is approaching the final stages of the short film through post production. Currently, we are working with our Composer team and our Colorist to get the ideal piece that we want the film to be! So stay tuned!
