Mission Statement

The mission of "Keep Coming Back" is to illuminate the crucial role of parental behavior in a child's recovery from substance use disorder. The film seeks to inspire change and offer hope to anyone grappling with this family disease.

The Story

Keep Coming Back is a deeply personal story inspired by Writer/Director Mark Rosman’s family experience.  It follows a father’s struggle as he learns he must change his behavior in order to create a space for his teen daughter’s recovery from substance use disorder to begin.

This film is fiscally sponsored by The Film Collaborative, a 501(c)3 organization. ALL donations to this campaign are tax deductible.

Logline: After widowed father and busy TV director Miles puts his drug-abusing 17-year-old daughter Zoe into a rehab in Utah, Miles is required to attend their four-day parent workshop where he discovers there's someone else besides Zoe who needs to change - himself.

  • Keep Coming Back will bring healing and valuable insights to parents, allowing their recovery to begin so much sooner.
  • Parents need to understand their critical role in this disease. This is the first film ever about substance use disorder to focus on that.
  • This film will encourage those who love someone with a substance use disorder to find support, education, and parent support groups to get the help they need.

"The premise is outstanding and speaks of a highly dramatic concept and a fresh perspective on the familiar subgenre and topic of recovery." - SLATED

"Well-written and important, this poignant story about addiction debunks a number of ignorant assumptions and sheds light on the realistic ways the disease can affect anyone, from any walk of life. The honesty with which this captures addiction and all it entails, is rarely seen in film." - THE BLACKLIST

"This movie is different... it's parent focused. That's the part that largely gets missed in the treatment world as well as in the movies. And without that piece you're not going to have a kid getting better unless you have the parents. This film needs to get out there for parents to look at this in a different light." - Garth Lemaster, Program Therapist, Visions Adolescent Treatment Center

"I loved the script. It really captured the process, especially in terms of the parents. I think the film would be helpful because it typifies what parents go through." - Hollie R. - Parent

Keep Coming Back will be the first addiction related film to focus squarely on the critical role the family plays in recovery.  It is a dramatic story told with emotion and poignancy, but also mixed with the sometimes humorous moments families experience along the way.

Picture this: as the parents in the workshop get a lesson in communication by wrangling the ranch animals, our lead character, Miles, is paired with a recalcitrant llama named Fred who makes it painfully clear that Miles’ my-way-or-the-highway approach won’t work.

To make this scene a reality, we need two days of filming with a llama, a donkey, and a goat – because what could possibly go wrong, right?  Of course, we’ll also need animal wranglers to keep the four-legged cast from running off, a stunt coordinator to ensure no one gets kicked or spat at, and a hair and makeup team, because even the goat deserves a good hair day.  Your support will help us create a scene that’s as transformative as it is laugh-out-loud funny!

Please visit our incentives page to literally buy us a llama for the day!

  • $1,000 = One day of shooting with a llama
  • $2,000 = Two Days of shooting with a llama (trust us we need it)
  • $4,000 = Two days of shooting with a goat + the llama
  • $6,000 = Two days of shooting with a donkey + the llama and goat
  • $8,000 = Two days of working with an animal wrangler (for all 3 animals, this is an amazing deal) + all the animals
  • $13,000 = Working with a stunt coordinator to keep the animals and actors safe on set + the animals and the wranglers
  • $20,000 = Hair and Makeup for the animals and actors + the stunt coordinator, wranglers and animals

Your support will make it possible for us to create one of the most pivotal and impactful scenes in the film!

Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in bringing Keep Coming Back to life. This film is more than just a story; it's a powerful narrative that has the potential to impact families grappling with the struggles of addiction.

Your support helps us not only cover production costs but also spread a message of hope and healing to those who need it most. By joining us on this journey, you're helping to amplify a voice that can inspire change and foster understanding.
