The Story
Kevin Longwell: Biohazard Remediation Specialist is a Mockumentary about a man that specializes in cleaning up after deaths of all kinds. While mockumentaries are made mainly out of satire, our short will use the genre to spread the message of kindness and hope in the face of the dark and absolute moments we will all have to face inevitably. From someone taking their own life to bodies that have been rotting for days without notice, Kevin does his job with a smile on his face.
We're looking to explore the complex emotions that come from brushing with death. Everyone either has dealt with it before or will at some point, it's an inevitable part of life. But what if there was someone there to help process those emotions immediately after such life altering events? That's where Kevin comes in. In this short, we want to take a glimpse inside the world that Kevin has worked so hard to make a better place one job at a time. It'll include interviews from Kevin, his past clients, and the documentary crew following him on a day in the field.

With my last few shorts, I've been able to be lucky enough to captivate and engage audiences. My short, Audition, is currently being hosted on the YouTube channel Crafty and has over 40k views after having a successful festival run.
My current short on the festival circuit, Mr. Mittens, has already been having even more success than Audition and we're not even close to finishing our screenings. The special note about both of these shorts is that they were made for less than $500 each, I'm wanting to push myself further as a filmmaker to see what is possible without making a project for scraps. To actually have fully fleshed out locations, crews, and props is a game changer, and that's what you would be donating into.

I've always had a fascination with death and how people cope with it, a lot of these thoughts stem from when I helped take care of my grandmother in her final years. I was 17 when she passed, but the emotions that came with that time in my life have continued to be slowly unraveled to me as I grow older. Death is such an absolute thing, it's the part of living that most people either don't think about or want to ignore. I want to challenge audiences by confronting those emotions and through the character of Kevin, hopefully come out with a better mindset about what being alive truly means. - Glenn

Drew Dammron - Kevin Longwell

Drew Dammron is a actor/filmmaker whose genre can possibly be best described as "fantasy satire." His films often present nightmarish images laced with philosophical overtones and slapstick humor. Much of his work deals with existentialist themes and is highly stylized. Drew's work has been recognized at numerous film festivals across the country. He currently resides in Los Angeles where he continues to expand his portfolio.
Natalie Williams - Tiffany

Natalie Williams is an actress based in Dallas, TX. She graduated with a BFA in Theater from Baylor University and has stayed active in community theater since. Ten years ago, Natalie wanted to push herself further and decided to study acting on film. She has since been active in the independent film scene both in front of and behind camera!
This is Natalie's third time working with Glenn.
Erik Anderson - Victor

Having become enamored with storytelling and performing at an early age, Erik Anderson began acting at the age of 11, in Georgetown, TX, where he performed in stage productions directed by his middle school theater teacher. His feature film debut came in 2001, with a lead role in the indie comedy Jobbers. He has performed in four feature length films, over two dozen shorts, and is also an accomplished voice actor performing a wide range of characters and accents; having contributed to projects with Austin Humane Society, Voyant Inc., Enspire Learning, and the Texas Department of Transportation.
This is Erik's fifth time working with Glenn.

The characters that Drew and Natalie are key to the heart of our short film. Between the characters that Drew and Natalie are playing, we'll be able to show the idea of kindness and compassion bringing light to the darkest moments of our lives can truly make a difference. Even though it may not be a massive change, being able to make your community a better place one action at a time is really what Kevin Longwell is all about.
Most of the budget were crowdfunding for is going towards paying our cast and crew. We're able to use our relationships to call in a few favors to get crew behind amazing projects like Boyhood, Alita: Battle Angel, Friday Night Lights, Fear the Walking Dead, and other major Austin based projects to hop on our production. We want to pay them for their time because their expertise is what will make Kevin Longwell be truly special. Past that, we need money to rent out a location that will let us stage a bloody death for Kevin to clean up, insurance for us to rent out equipment (that has been graciously donated by MPS Studios to fully complete our camera and lighting packages), food to feed everyone, props/set design to really flesh out Kevin's world, and a big enough film festival budget to get Kevin Longwell in front of audiences all around the world.

Production will take place over two days in February 2026, one day focusing on Kevin's character and the other focusing on grabbing interviews from his previous clients. Post production would go through the Spring to submit to festivals by Summer so we can premiere in either the Fall or Winter. Past our festival premiere, we'll continue to play through the festival circuit well into 2027 and premiere online by Spring 2028.
