It's Rachel’s bachelorette weekend with her three closest friends. There's Janet, her off-beat cousin, who is Maid-of-Honor by default, a choice that does not exactly thrill the rest of the group. Tim, Rachel’s co-worker bestie, and Ashley, her party-girl college friend, butt heads from the start.
The destination only makes things worse; a dilapidated old cabin in the middle of nowhere. Not the ideal location for a fun-filled weekend. It turns out that the creepy cabin Janet booked on Craigslist is the former home of long-dead serial killer, Herman Baxter Salt.
As the night progresses, we learn that Rachel has been having second thoughts about marriage, but her friends are too self-involved to see her struggling. And she’s too much of a people pleaser to ruin anyone’s weekend.
When Rachel mistakenly consumes human ashes (Margarita’s anyone?!), she becomes possessed with the murderous ghost of H.B. Salt. She attacks her Bridal party, who not-so-quickly realize that their friend, Rachel, isn’t in charge anymore. The Bridal party has to set aside their differences and learn to work together to exorcise the Bride before her wedding the next day, or die trying.

These are some of the films that we love and admire that helped inspire the tone and style of Killer Bachelorette. We share a love of comedy and campy thrillers, and these films do not disappoint. They may be gory, but at their core, these movies touch on something we can all relate to: friendship.

We were actors. Just a couple of actors. You send in a self-tape, never hear back, and then move on to the next audition. At some point, we both got tired of other people deciding which roles we were right for. So we said, fuck it, let’s write our own scripts. And we DID. We wrote and wrote, took classes, got feedback…It was hard. We made mistakes and learned a lot but now we are here. Ready to finally make this thing.
We met at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where our shared love of comedy and collaboration sparked a creative partnership. We founded the all-female musical improv team The B-Side, performing together for over eight years. Our work blends sharp comedy with character-driven storytelling, which we now bring to our first short film, Killer Bachelorette.

$10,000 - That’s a lot of money! Turns out, for a film, it’s soooo not. But we’re used to being thrifty and for our first short film, we know we can pull it off.
We’re shooting this film over two days and need your support to cover the essentials. Every dollar helps our cast and crew, equipment rentals, locations, and post-production. Here’s how your contribution will be used:
.png)
Cast & Crew: $5,600
Equipment & Rentals: $1,100
Locations, Permits, & Insurance: $1,200
Props / Wardrobe / Hair & Makeup: $1,000
Food & Craft Services: $500
Post Production - Editing and Sound Mixing: $600
Budget Stretch Goals:
And if we somehow surpass our goal?! Then we can do these other amazing things that will make our movie even better!
For +$500 - We hire a composer to do the score!
For +$1,000 - You help us submit to the festival circuit!
For +$1,500 - We upgrade our VFX, lots more blood and gore!

We understand that money is tight. The world is crumbling. You may not be able to shell out your hard earned cash to this campaign, and that is totally fine! We love you all, and we are thrilled that you are even reading this right now.
But if you still want to help, either because you know us personally or you felt connected to this film, there are other *free* ways to do it!
You can share our social media posts! Help us spread the word and reach a wider audience.
