An LGBTQ comedy web series tackles the happier side of being a lesbian--the gayer side if you'll forgive our pun. We're tired of burying our gay side characters. LESBRO lets you take the gay goggles off, sit back, relax, and still enjoy silly, leading queer women...and one straight man.

What else can be said about this project, but fun?
Well... a lot more can be said than just fun. We can say this series is about Big Gay Fun. For our Millennial and Gen Z watchers, its #BigGayFun. But in terms of this crowdfunding page, its about Big Gays Funds.
Lesbro is a passion project written and directed by Elise Dean, and has been set into pre-production with the aid of Loyola Marymount University, Film Independent, and numerous Film & TV students. The goal of Lesbro is to share a sense of joy and community, while creating a world that makes it simple for anyone to understand the personal conflict and confusion present when one feels like they're in love with the wrong type of person.
Please, stay with us for a minute to hear why your contribution will make a difference for this series, and in the dialogue in the LGBTQ community. For the skippers and skimmers, our specifics about our budget can be found in the second half of this text!
A lot can be said for what this project project is about:
Friendship, and found family.
Tough love, and true love.
Marriage, and Magic.
Denial, and "DUDE! Put me back in my body."
Above all, this project is about Allison and her magic.
Allison is a witch and psychic and awesome. And she’s going to remind you of that if you forget. Allison and her wife Shannon see that the rest of their friend group is unhappy. Two of them are paired up, and, while the other two get along, they’re just not meant to be. Allison knows exactly who is meant to be, so she decides to create a love confession potion. However, that doesn’t go as planned when two of her friends drink from the potion instead of one. They switch bodies.
As we get to know our friends over time we see how much our best buds, our switched brethren, differ. We see what motivates them, what makes them tick, and we see Allison's refusal to switch them back until they understand each other as much as they think they already do.

With 12 days of production, this project requires incredible attention and planning as well as funding from awesome people like you.
Thankfully enough, and with the help of many, this project can be fully funded if we reach our goal of $5,000. Comedy aside, your contribution is no joke. Our producers take incredible care of what we have to spend, and why we're spending it.
Running the production of a series like this is no easy matter. Locations, permits, props, wardrobe, transportation, and food for a 12 day shoot adds up. With an incredible crew of friends willing to help us pro-bono, and the generosity of Loyola Marymount University's equipment and insurance, this project has been made possible for a fraction of what it costs independent filmmakers for production.
With that in mind, we humbly ask for your help, yet we don't want you to leave empty handed. We're offering a number of different perks, which you can view on the right side of your screen as a thank you to the respective amount of your contribution.
W H Y T H I S & W H Y U S ?
Your effect doesn't stop with the amount of your contribution; this project offers a distinctive approach to entertainment though an ensemble cast of characters rarely seen. Our director, Elise Dean, hopes to make room for more queer characters on the screen in leading roles instead of seeing them in supporting or featured roles. Lesbro contibutes to a dialogue about freely loving the person that feels right to you. We feel its important to shows these characters and relationships to promote queer culture.
O U R C A S T

Kiera Jacob as "Allison"
Originally from Tuolumne County, Kiera grew up admiring the rich theatre and arts community built from local artists. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a degree in Theatre Arts at Loyola Marymount University, and has since been making her childhood dreams of acting come true on both the screen and the stage. Much to her pleasant surprise, Elise finds her funny (a great honor in Kiera's "Sunday Punday" filled world of humor), which makes Lesbro the third project she has worked on with Elise (with hopefully many more to come!). Kiera is also discovering more people that find her funny through her Twitch TV channel, as well as acting and stage managing for Paul Sand's theatre company, Santa Monica Public Theatre. She is excited to be a part of the Big Gay FUN!
Zoë Photenhauer as "Shannon"
Zoë is an inspired and passionate creative. Acting since she was 4 months old, she has always enjoyed performing and entertaining others through improv, acting, accents, silly antics, bad singing, guitar, surprise dances, and many other shenanigans. Since coming back from her year abroad in New Zealand she is actively pursuing acting, screenwriting, and directing. Zoë's philosophy is “Story is Key." for stories move us, stay with us, teach us, mirror us, expose us, and entertain us. Her goal is to create amazing stories that have purpose, humor, and life to them and Lesbro fits the bill.

Corinna Root as "Bailey"
Cori Root is playing the role of Big Gay Bailey™ in Lesbro. She’s a military kid that's lived everywhere from Kansas to Japan. Now she's a sophomore film production and screenwriting double major at LMU who met Elise thanks to Lesbro's lovely Assitant Director, McKenzie. She’s super pumped to be a part of this Big Gay Fun™ because, as a bi woman, she’s more than ready to get some great LGBTQ+ content out there! Down with tokenism, the reign of the queers has begun!!

Jenna Park as "Callie"
Jenna hails from the mountains of Colorado, and graduated with an MFA in Writing and Producing for Television at Loyola Marymount University in 2017. She's worked in development at NBC, on the writing staff for comedians Eric Andre and Kitao Sakurai, and received her first feature writing credit on a Christmas movie! She's a jack of all trades. In 2018 she wrote, produced, starred in, and edited Banged, a half hour dramedy pilot, and also starred in and edited writer/director Lizzie Germann's comedy web series, The Sidelines. Jenna is super stoked to get a chance to contribute her acting and editing passions to Lesbro, and to reunite with Elise and many familiar faces from March Of The Band Nerds. Jenna enjoys rock climbing and her favorite cut is the "L cut."

Christine Jung as "Emma"
Christine is excited to be working with Elise (and many other repeat faces) again. She is also a complete cliché. A New Yorker living in Los Angeles who loves musicals, cries during movies, dances in her kitchen and sings in her car. Actively pursuing the arts at a young age she started dancing as a child. Hooked by the bug she began to train in various styles. As she grew older she would explore other facets of artistic expression and study music, acting, and studio arts. She believes that one should always be learning and growing and strives to be a well versed artiste. She is grateful to her parents for indulging her insatiable need to do all these things, all at the same time, all day, every day. And as always she thanks her family, for always supporting her, despite being located all over the world. She continues to be a starving artist much to the chagrin of everyone around her.
