The Story
Hi, my name is Dylan Huang, and with my name, how I dress, my voice, and other stereotypes, it’s easy to mistake me for a guy. It’s something that I’ve grown to get used to, and it is the key inspiration for my short film: Like Clockwork or (Calamity)
Because I am perceived as a guy, others are often comfortable being openly misogynistic or make sexual remarks about women. This is exactly what the short film explores. We follow Eddie, a non-binary restaurant worker, who must find the courage to speak up or lose themself while working an overtime shift with their toxic co-workers.
As a filmmaker, I want to give a voice to the underrepresented, and illustrate how identity influences our relationships and mannerisms on a daily basis. Many non-binary people, including myself, have a shared issue of not correcting people about our pronouns, especially when we think that we won’t see a person consistently. Sometimes, it is a safety precaution, scared that it can make or break a relationship. We often shy away from speaking up to protect ourselves.

DYLAN HUANG
Dylan is a cinematographer, camera operator, and camera assistant, born and raised in Queens, NY. As a rising senior, majoring in Film Production at Macaulay Brooklyn College, they have worked on various student and independent projects, ranging from narratives, documentaries, commercial specs to music videos. With the passion for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC representation and identities in film, behind and in front of the camera, they want to help break barriers and stereotypes that are constantly being shown.

ROMY SWISA
Romy is an aspiring Art Director and Cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Entering her junior year at Brooklyn College's film production program, she has gained a whirlwind of experience through support of 20+ student thesis sets in various major roles from set design to camera. Through the blending of logistics, organization, and creativity, she aims to uncover the beauty in the mundane and unconventional aspects of life through her filmmaking.

CHAZZEL FERBOL
Chazzel is a filmmaker dedicated to telling stories about underrepresented backgrounds through a gothic and fantasy lens. Concentrating in producing and screenwriting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she is an incoming intern at NBC's The Tonight Show and is currently a production assistant at Apple Music Studios. Chazzel appreciates community and the use of media for social activism.

Elene is a filmmaker, cinematographer, camera assistant, and photographer based in Brooklyn, New York dedicated to creating art about the raw human experience particularly in women’s stories. As a film production student at Brooklyn College, she has worked on several student and independent films. With an upbringing surrounded by the arts and the current rising presence of AI, she is passionate about keeping art tactile and human-made.
