The Story
Hello Everyone,
Bridget here, playwright and director of the new play, Litter. Desperately and gleefully trying to bring this play to life in a world where making theatre is getting tougher by the day... Which is another reason why we need the arts more than ever!
Litter has been a finalist in several playwriting competitions and now... JOY! Was selected for a limited-run production in the She/LA Arts Summer Theatre Festival! https://shenycarts.org/she-la/
The Story of Litter:
A backpack is surreptitiously thrown out of an Uber on a Des Moines highway. When the bag's gruesome contents are discovered, Detectives Merritt and Van Roekel track down and interrogate the 15 year-old passenger responsible for the "littering"
The Festival will provide the theatre (The Matrix/Rogue Machine) in West Hollywood for tech and performances, the Lighting Designer, A few set pieces, Box Office and Marketing.
However, I still need to pay for the following out of pocket:
Callback rental space - $140
Actors- $500x 5 = $2500
Costume Designer - $500
Stage Manager $500
Rehearsal Space ($30 an hour x 3 hours a night for 25 days) = $2250
Props - $100
Costumes $300
Small contingency for any surprise expenses: $210
SO! The total amount I'm trying to raise is $6500.
If you can and it's not a hardship, please consider donating! You can also help by sharing this Seed & Spark with friends and spreading the word! We'd also LOVE to see you at a performance in July if you can make it!
