Mission Statement
The Story
From a locked basement in an undisclosed location, “LOOK AT THIS FREAK” is streamed live to the world, granting millions of viewers the opportunity to spectate and participate in the antics and torments of a captive humanoid abomination. David, an outsider newly returned from a life-changing religious experience, wants to make a difference. When he comes face to face with the gruesome spectacle of “LOOK AT THIS FREAK”, he just might get his chance.

Just back from a mission trip, a couch surfing David arrives at his old friend Molly's apartment. The reunion sours as David encounters Molly's hated roommate Trevor, who shamelessly flaunts his online addiction: "LOOK AT THIS FREAK" - the livestreamed footage of an abomination chained in a basement and tortured for the amusement of countless subscribers. David scarcely has time to grapple with the moral and spiritual implications of this grotesque display before Trevor's obsession yields perilous consequences, and a surprise livestream announcement puts all three lives in immediate danger.

LOOK AT THIS FREAK presents the audience with a predicament so absurd it could only exist in a fever dream, lets them laugh at it, and then traps them inside that predicament until it feels real and terrifying.
The observers of "LOOK AT THIS FREAK", the channel within the short, have the safety and privacy of their voyeuristic position upended, and find themselves in real danger - if the film is done right, this feeling should extend to the real life audience as well.
I want the Freak to break through both screens and leave a mark on his audience, if only in their nightmares.

- Alex Furnas / Writer & Director
Alex is a proud member of the dynamite 48 Hour Film Project group, "Gold Team" led by Tommy Heffernan. Over the last decade this team has grown to create dynamic work within the 48 hour time frame of local and out of state competitions.
Their projects range from absurdist comedy to out of control horror. One of their latest and greatest work is "The Fingernail Taker" which was written by Alex Furnas. It has played at various horror and genre festivals and is a beloved nightmare.
Alex's debut comes in the form of "Honeymoon" a newlywed couple retreat to a secluded cabin for an idyllic honeymoon, where their relationship, sanity and lives are jeopardized by ghosts of the past, both real and imagined.
With what is showcased here, you can expect the same kind of madness and so much more from LOOK AT THIS FREAK.
Horror is both a successful genre to work in both in its creativity but also how people respond to it. We want to add to that scene more and more with the work that we muster up, "LOOK AT THIS FREAK" is no exception to that.
The stills below should only further enhance the influences and draws Alex and the team are bringing together here. From voyeuristic terror, unsettling humor and the darkest of spaces.
We hope that the FREAK we showcase and all the talents behind us bring you closer to the screens for a deeper look into this nightmare!
