The Story

Long ago, when legends were yet to be born, and legacies were still in the making, monsters and humans fought for control of this world. They were not alone in their fight as semi-divine beings known as the Diagin aided the human struggle against the monsters, known as the Fomorians. For centuries, Dagda, King of the Fae, had been trying to quell the insurrection of his cousin, Balor. Dagda saw that the Diagin and humans had the same enemy, and he went to them with a proposal of an alliance. A few of the most prominent mercenaries fighting in the conflict signed; The Order of the Land, The Soldiers of Iron, The Knights of the Serpent, The Knights of Devotion, and The Sanguine Order. These five guilds fought alongside the Diagan against Balor, and the conflict began to turn in favor of humanity. Later, the five knight guilds founded a special force of monster hunters known as the Lorgaire. Centuries passed, and the fae, along with the Lorgaire, faded away to a mere children's fairytale.

But what if we told you the Lorgaire are alive and protecting humanity as we speak?

Our story begins with Sibeal, a young female college student with an ordinary life like any other. One day, Sibeal finds that her friend, Mani, is missing. Upon finding his apartment in ruins, Sibeal looks to her uncle for help. Uncle Donovan, a gruff hermit who studies fae in rural Ireland, realizes that her time has come and informs her that she descends from an ancient line of cryptid hunters known as the Lorgaire. To save her friend, Sibeal must revive her family’s legacy to hunt down a werewolf that’s taken him before it’s too late.
Sibeal is quiet, reserved, cynical, and a bit of a pessimist. She enjoys the little things in life that most people would consider to be mundane or boring. She's often the voice of reason when Carina gets an itch for adventure and spends a lot of her time cleaning up the messes that her bestie leaves behind. While she was raised on stories of fantastic creatures and monsters, she’s skeptical towards the supernatural.
Carina is Sibeal's excitable other half. She craves adventure and loves the more mysterious side of life. She’s obsessed with the supernatural and anything out of the ordinary, which can often get her into trouble. She keeps Sibeal on her toes and challenges her to leave her comfort zone and think outside the box.
A gruff middle-aged man who used to be a Lorgaire until he decided to focus more on his studies. He currently lives in a small cottage in rural Ireland, studying fae and recording his findings. He tries to keep in touch with his niece Sibeal when he can and awaits the day when she will be ready to take on the mantle of Lorgaire to protect humanity from dangerous creatures as he and his brother did.
Mani is the close friend of Sibeal and Carina. He's shy and quiet, but he's always there for his friends. He usually never misses a class or hang-out session; however, none of his friends have heard from him in a while and the two are worried something may have happened to him. After Sibeal and Carina visit his apartment, it appears something supernatural is afoot...

We are highly inspired by projects such as Guillermo del Toro's Pans Labyrinth (2006), Harry Potter (2001-2011), and Supernatural (2005-2020), and we plan to incorporate their visual styles and tones into our film. Our goal for Lorgaire is to create a film with the gorgeous color grading from Pan's Labyrinth, the editing style of Harry Potter, and the overall heart, tone, and humor of Supernatural.

"I've independently produced and directed over sixteen short films, and I'm currently in the post-production phase of my first feature-length horror film, Saudade. I've never let a lack of resources stop me from achieving my goals, which has made me a very resourceful filmmaker over the years. I've learned while making independent films that it is far from easy, and things will often go wrong, but you have to roll with the punches. I'm still learning and growing with every new project, but I love what I do, and my biggest hope is that the films I make will make someone else feel passionate about their own dreams too!
I have a huge passion for fantasy, thanks to my younger brother for introducing me to films such as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. It was the tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons that brought us closer together as siblings, and that's why I'm so excited to bring the world of Lorgaire to life on screen. Lorgaire is personal to me because I get to include elements from my own heritage, being of Irish descent. This is a project that I'm highly passionate about because it combines elements of fantasy and Celtic culture in a way that's fun and relevant for new audiences. My team and I hope that you enjoy the final film as much as we've enjoyed creating it, so get ready and let the Legacy begin!"
