The Story

Solomon is a loveable, nerdy high school math teacher nursing a broken heart at his local Las Vegas coffee shop. Sophia is the kind of woman who walks into a room and makes everyone forget what they were doing. When his best friend Jose force-launches the world's most accidental icebreaker, the two end up sharing a table — and trading numbers.
What follows is the first date neither of them saw coming: lo mein by candlelight, a mob enforcer, a very opinionated delivery driver, and a criminal uncle who just made things very, very personal.
This is a film about two people who find each other at exactly the wrong moment — and choose each other anyway.
Think Date Night meets John Wick, with a little Notting Hill thrown in for good measure. Action, heart, and exactly the right amount of chaos.
BEHIND THE CAMERA - Meet The Team

Lovestruck is directed by Briana Kennedy and produced by Dromma Films. Briana brings a passion for genre-defying storytelling to every project. She is the kind of filmmaker who believes a short film can make you laugh, hold your breath, and root for two people all at once.

WHY THIS FILM - What we're making and why it matters

Las Vegas is one of the most cinematic cities in the world and one of the most underused as a backdrop for genuine human stories. We're not telling a gambling story or a heist story. We're telling a love story that just happens to unfold in the most wonderfully absurd city on earth.
Lovestruck is also a film about a woman who is both powerful and vulnerable, a rare combination in the action genre. Sophia isn't a sidekick or a love interest with a skill set bolted on. She drives the story. She makes the choices. And she's genuinely funny while doing it.
We want to show that genre films can have real heart — and that love stories can have real stakes.
THE BUDGET - Where your support goes
Every dollar raised goes directly to making this film the best it can be — paying our cast and crew fairly, capturing Las Vegas the way it deserves to be seen, and getting Lovestruck in front of festival audiences around the world.
THE PLAN - What happens when we hit our goal
Principal photography takes place in Las Vegas in real locations that give the film its soul. We'll submit to film festivals across the country, with a hometown Las Vegas premiere as our launch event. After the festival run, Lovestruck will be available to stream, share, and champion.
This is the first Dromma Films short and the beginning of something that will change Las Vegas cinema. Every person who contributes becomes part of that story.

About This Team
Lovestruck is being brought to life by a team of seasoned Las Vegas-based filmmakers and industry veterans who collectively bring decades of on-set experience to this project.
Briana Kennedy is a multi-hyphenate with over 30 years of professional experience spanning film, television, theater, and voice-over. A BFA graduate of UNLV's film program, she has appeared in a Tribeca Film Festival award-winning feature, recurring roles on Nickelodeon's Henry Danger and Danger Force, and the Five Nights at Freddy's film. As director of Lovestruck, Briana brings a rare combination of on-camera instinct and behind-the-lens vision — she knows exactly how a performance needs to feel, and how to capture it.
John DiMarco is a Las Vegas-based director of photography and filmmaker whose work spans narrative film, short-form content, and editorial. A versatile visual storyteller, DiMarco has accumulated credits as both cinematographer and editor across more than two dozen projects, reflecting a deep fluency in the full arc of filmmaking. His work as a DP includes over sixteen projects, with notable titles such as Oh No (2021) and Kevin and Winnie (2022), and he has also served as editor on several films including Missing. DiMarco brings to each project a dual sensibility — the eye of a cinematographer and the instincts of an editor — shaping stories both behind the lens and in the cutting room. He joins director Briana Kennedy for LOVESTRUCK, continuing to expand a body of work defined by collaboration and craft.
Adam Clinton is a Las Vegas-based writer originally from Cleveland, Ohio, who relocated in 2019 to pursue his career in the film industry. His short film Red Moon — which he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in — earned multiple accolades including Best Action Film at the Los Angeles Film Awards, Best Short Film at the New York Festival, and Best First Time Director at the New York Festival. He is also known for Deception, Pride to Rise, and The Junky Warrior. With Lovestruck, Adam brings his instinct for genre storytelling and sharp character work to a script that does something genuinely difficult — make you laugh, root for the romance, and hold your breath during the action, sometimes all in the same scene.
Rich Hopkins is a 35-year veteran stunt coordinator and founder of Thrillseekers Unlimited, Nevada's original professional stunt and action sports company, with over 300 film, television, and commercial credit, including productions such as Point Break, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Criss Angel: Mindfreak. Rich boasts a 100% safety record, and brings that same meticulous professionalism to every frame of Lovestruck's action sequences.
Brock Albin is our key grip and gaffer.
Mac Light is our music supervisor and composer, a Las Vegas-based musician who began his film scoring career writing for independent filmmakers and has since built an extensive body of work in the indie film world. His scoring credits include the independent feature films Space, Blood Covered Chocolate, and Bittertooth, and he has done extensive arranging work for the Las Vegas Philharmonic. As a songwriter, he has had music placed across multiple film production— and his ability to move fluidly between genres makes him the perfect fit for a film that needs to feel like a rom-com one moment and an action thriller the next. Mac's score will be one of the things that makes Lovestruck feel like the real deal.
Melle Hartley is our producer, an entertainment industry professional with over a decade of film production experience and a comprehensive understanding of the landscape from both creative and business perspectives. She has served in production roles on numerous independent productions including Reaper starring Jake Busey and Danny Trejo, Zoe Gone, and Pocket Listing starring Rob Lowe. Melle is the operational backbone of this production — the person who makes sure the vision actually makes it to the screen.
