Mission Statement

Our mission is to blend heartfelt storytelling with humorous moments, bringing to life the struggles and triumphs of characters who stand up for their roots and values. By doing so, we aspire to celebrate diversity, honor legacy, and remind audiences of the power of unity in the face of adversity.

The Story

After the death of its namesake, founder and owner, all hope of saving Mama McQueen’s Tavern and Drag Show is in the hands of Mama’s daughter, Linda. Having started the club in the late 60’s, Mama McQueen’s grew not only an amazing show but also a safe place for the LGBT community. Even though she has not been around the scene since her late teens, Linda has recently separated from her wife and knows how important the club is to the community, so she decides to upend her life to try and save her father’s legacy.

Linda arrives at Mama McQueen's club to assess what needs to be done to save it. She is entertained by the show, but appalled by the lack of professionalism and quality of the performances.

Once backstage, she witnesses the infighting and lack of leadership among the staff. Linda has a heart-to-heart with the staff and realizes that she has her hands full but feels obligated to turn things around. All this when knowing her brother wants to close the Tavern and sell it for the cash. She stares at the oil painting of her father in full regalia that has been turned into a shrine over the fireplace, and we flash back to a time about twenty years earlier.

Mama McQueen is performing in front of a packed house as a very young Linda bartends in the back.

The pilot ends in a cliff hanger with the discovery of Mama’s will, which could upend everything!

Please note that we are doing crowdfunding to boost the funding level above what will be provided by Executive Producers we are currently in negotiation with. Hence the Wish List numbers appear ridiculously low.

About This Team

Our team is made up of people with a variety of backgrounds. It all started with Maximilliana coming up with this idea, writing a script, based on their years of being a lead performer at the Queen Mary nightclub, plus performing at drag clubs all over the US. They brought that to Ann Thomas years ago. Ann began pitching it in script form only in about 2017.

Ann has taken worked with Max to add a treatment, pitch deck, and sizzle reel, and a whole lot of refining to bring it to the point where it's developed enough to bring in more people.

Lyz was added to fill the flashback scenes of the title character, and is also bringing their production company into the mix.

More are coming, as we approach people we know who can fill the positions needed to make this a success.
