Mission Statement
The Story
Mandated has been almost two years in the making. It started with the simple idea that we needed more content that showcased who we were as actresses and developed into a need to tell the story of different women — women who are messier, quirkier, flawed and yet complex extensions of ourselves, and characters to whom other women can also relate.
The idea for Mandated is not only the creative work of four women, but it is written by and stars women. The actors in our project are not only diverse, but range in age from nine years old well into their sixties.
Our filming starts this coming June. We'll be filming over three weekends, and have many long days ahead of us. 'Mandated' will initially be released digitally, on our website, after being submitted to various TV and web festivals, and we will be looking into different distribution options (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO) after releasing the first few episodes online. We would also love to distribute via Seed & Spark if we meet the criteria and collect enough followers.
Our entire team is very dedicated and passionate about our project and we hope that you will be too! We want to create the best quality work to showcase our creative talents. We believe that any contribution, no matter how small or how big, can lead this project to be the best it possibly can.

Her first original full length play Peter & Tink, had a sold out debut and travelled to over four different cities, while her newest play Ophelia was a semi-finalist in the Inkslinger Playwriting Competition. Lauren Lawson (Actor)- Is an actor originally from Houston, TX and is now based in New York City. She moved here to attend NYU for musical theatre, but has since ventured more into improv/comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade. She has performed in various artistic endeavors around the city such as Honestly Abe the Musical at the Actor’s Temple Theatre, The Field at Theatre Under St. Marks, and A Sketch of New York at The Producer’s Club. Jesse R. Tendler (Director/Actor/Producer): An actor by the age of four, Jesse has an extensive and diverse list of credits. Television and film credits include: The Ellen Burstyn Show (series regular); The Thorns (series regular); The Secret, Hallmark Television Special (co-starring w/Kirk Douglas) for which he earned a Youth in Film Awards nomination for Best Child Actor in a Television Movie; Are You Afraid of the Dark?; and Law & Order, among others. Jesse has also appeared in close to 100 national network television commercials (one of which won him a Clio Award for Best Child Actor in a TV Commercial), plus numerous radio spots and several video games (Bully, Grand Theft Auto, etc.). His theatre credits range from Hamlet to Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood to Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party, and also include various new works.
Though an actor first, Jesse is excited to have made the jump into directing and producing as well, which began with the co-founding of Intimation Productions in 2007. Focusing primarily on narrative fiction, short and feature length films, Jesse continues to produce a diverse range of projects, also including music videos, commercials, industrials, and documentaries. Recent films (Leaving Circadia, Family On Board) have won Best Picture, Best Director, and Audience Choice awards at a multitude of festivals, including being selected for consideration by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the 2016 Oscars. Jesse’s relatively recent move into directing was a natural progression for an actor and producer who also has significant teaching experience. This combined skillset makes him an adept director with an enhanced understanding of and compassion for both cast and crew.
In addition to acting, directing, and producing, Jesse can often be found on set as a 1st AD, script supervisor, or camera operator. He is also a freelance script doctor, a professional photographer and videographer, and a regular international traveler and volunteer trip leader. Jesse holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology in the fields of Materials Science Engineering, Entrepreneurial Management, and Marketing. He attributes his time in the Mask & Wig Club of the University of Pennsylvania (the oldest all-male collegiate comedy troupe in the nation) as his inspiration for jumping back into the entertainment industry after college.
