Weed. Weirdos. The fallibility of linear time. If this film was a recipe, it would be one cup weed movie, one cup buddy comedy, and a tablespoon of sci-fi. It’s also a love letter to New Jersey and Monmouth County. After a year like 2020, laughs are as mandatory as masks.

Mission Statement

It’s nice to just be silly sometimes. Although I love all the fantastic dark comedies and dramedies that have swept cinemas in the last decade or so, I also miss silly shit. This movie is silly. 2020-2021 seems to be the darkest timeline, and this film is a grade-A treatment for sadness.

The Story

Umm, what happened, dawg? Holy munchies, we are fully funded!

All of us on the Marijuana Minutes team are forever grateful to our contributors, sharers, and followers. There are no words, man! THANK YOU. And don’t forget, our campaign is still live, and we now have a stretch goal. So please keep contributing, sharing, and following if you can, we aren’t out of the woods yet!

OH! And you can also enjoy some booze on us at the premiere as a token of our gratitude. Thanks dudes!

What are Marketing Expenses, you ask?
Well, here's a breakdown of our plan for the extra bucks.

- Hiring graphic designers to create a Press Kit and Sell Sheets
- Creating Deliverables, which are specifically formatted versions of the film for distribution to theaters, streamers, TV, etc.
- Getting the fim Captioned and Subtitled
- Outreach to sales reps and distributors
- Legally Clearing all sound fx, clips, and materials used in the movie

Potheaded ne'er-do-well Amy just wants to hang out and get high, but when she discovers a vape pen that can reverse time, she must scramble to restore temporal order (and hopefully get some nookie in the process).  With help from her psychotic best friend, Amy battles with bizarre drug dealers, lame Tinder dates, and a slew of other oddballs in this indie sci-fi comedy adventure.

And... the film is shot!

We followed covid protocols, shooting the bulk of the film on weekends last summer/fall.

Post production is our next big step- We need your help to get past some big hurdles!

I bet you're thinking, "What the heck do you even need my money for?" I'm glad you asked. Although we've finished shooting the film, we've burnt through our original budget, and we need some money to finish post-production. Color correction, sound mix, festival fees, visual effects, and  DCP file creation are only a few of the steps we need your help to complete! HELP!

The producers of Marijuana Minutes met during their time at Montclair State University. They were a part of the Filmmaking Program and have been buds (heh, buds) ever since. In fact, most of the Marijuana Minutes cast and crew attended Montclair State at some point, some even are currently enrolled. Holla holla, represent! However, the producers can't forget their super awesome cast and crew from outside of their Montclair roots, (graduates from various films schools across NJ) who graciaously dedicated their precious time to this passion project.

But, the Producers graduated millennia ago-- Since, they have all worked in the industry on various films, tv shows, commercials, etc. Our wonderful lead actors are all acomplished in their own right! Each having a slew of theater, short film, TV and commercial work under their belt.

About This Team

Ryan D. Moore - Director/Writer/Producer

This is Ryan’s first time directing a feature film.  Before this film he’s written and directed a slew of sketch comedy videos, a couple short films, and some commercial work.  He also teaches Screenwriting and Film Appreciation at a few local colleges, including Fairleigh Dickinson University and Brookdale Community College.  He also works for the Montclair Film Festival.

Justin Guerrieri - Producer/Production Designer/Sound Designer

Justin Guerrieri graduated from Montclair State University centuries ago with a degree in Filmmaking. Luckly, he was actually able to use it and land a steady gig working as an audio/video Learning Assistant. Stability FTW! Anyway, he’s sure you don’t give damn about any of that, so umm, wanna’ see his Pokemon card collection? No? (DM me- I mean, him if you change your mind).

He hopes this movie makes you laugh. <3

Nicholas DeMicco - Producer/Assistant Director/Editor

Nick D., as we call him-- because there's also a Nick P. and a Nick R.-- is a Nick who's last name starts with D. He enjoys being Nick D.

Monika Kolodziej - Director of Photography/Producer/ Editor

Monika is a NJ based cinematographer.  She enjoys being Polish, and running The Rabbit Hole TV with Mike Pacyna-- their youtube channel with a focus on film reviews, video essays, and film festival reviews.

Jared Cardenas - Producer/Actor/Costume Designer

Jared is a writer and filmmaker who has seen such movies as iRobot, The Bridge on the River Kwai, and Cocoon.

Rebecca DeMarco - Lead Actress

Rebecca is a NYC based actor, who also dabbles in songwriting and astrology. Recent credits include "Young Poet" in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and that's about it. She is currently represented by Avalon Artists Group and encourages anyone to call her agent and let them know how great she is. Also, she recently adopted a cat, whose name is Bandit.

Sophia Parola - Actress

I may not be as cool, confident, and aggressive as my character Clover, but I do eat as much Chinese food as her. Hello, I'm Sophia Lucia Parola and I am that over-the-top actress you'll see in "Marijuana Minutes." Working on this film has truly been the best part of 2020 (I know hard to believe), and I am forever grateful to everyone on set because they made me realize something very important... I am kind of funny? Hope everyone who gets to watch the film has as much fun as I did being in it!

Mike Pacyna - Associate Producer/Gaffer

Mike likes lights, World of Warcraft, and a quality C-Stand.

Anthony Echo - Associate Producer/Set Chef

A writer, director, and occasional arsonist, Echo is a founding member of "American Breakfast", a comedy troupe that includes Moore and several cast members from "Marijuana Minutes".  The group's output, lauded by critics as "not very funny" and "surprisingly dull", motivated the performers to pursue more ambitious, less not very funny projects.  Thus, Moore's audacious, irreverent comedy-fantasy "Marijuana Minutes" was born.  Echo's filmmaking talents are such that the production retained him as the craft services guy.

If you have any information regarding Echo's current whereabouts, please contact the nearest branch of the FBI.

Jason Guerierri - Associate Producer/Practical Effects/Carpentry

Jason is a highly photogenic practical effects professional.

At a young age, practical effects, ingenuity, and a steady hand came naturally, as he has yet to improperly straw a Capri Sun pouch in the entirety of his life. He showed promise at a mere three years young when he crafted his own corrective eye patch from nothing but a disassembled baby bottle, a Bazooka Joe comic strip, and guts.

He earned his chops as a close personal consultant to celebrated former Green Beret, Navy SEAL, and Army Ranger MacGruber. He has also gained many accolades as a successful co-author of his popular collection of best selling life hack themed books, "What I Could Do With _____ in One Day: The Series," that we've all come to know and love.

"Jason can build it, and if he can't, give him a day." - Revered Writer/Director Ryan Moore, and the Dalai Lama

Melanie St. Clair - Actress

Melanie is a camera department crew member moonlighting as an actress for Marijuana Minutes.

Steve Melone - Actor/Production Sound Mixer/Assistant Music Supervisor

Hi, I was told at a young age that my name is Steve Melone. I work in film and television as an editor, sound recordist and audio mixer. I'm also an occasional musician, and now an aspiring actor extraordinaire, (thanks Marijuana Minutes)! I grew up on Jim Carrey movies and satiate my existential angst with improv, music, Mr. Show and Albert Brook movies! Creatively, I'm always trying to better myself as a filmmaker, sketch comedy writer and human being! Projects always pending.

Evan Dickerson - Actor

Evan Dickerson is a New Jersey-based writer and educator. He holds a BFA and BA in Filmmaking and English respectively, and an MAT in Teaching from Montclair State University. Evan worked as a production manager on feature and short films before transitioning to the world of education. As a curriculum consultant, he worked with Montclair Film (hosts of the annual Montclair Film Festival) to build their education program, which now hosts a wide range of film education classes for thousands of students each year. He continues his work in education through screenwriting workshops for teens and professional development workshops for teachers, in which he provides practical strategies for bringing filmmaking and screenwriting into classrooms. All of these skills would have helped our movie greatly, but instead, Evan just acted in a bit part.

Adam Egizi - Composer/Music Supervisor

A NJ native living on the sandy shores of Los Angeles, Ryan D. Moore has successfully claimed him to be, "The nicest man on BOTH sides of the Mississippi." Adam didn't agree and believes there are, "way nicer bi-river people out there, but Ryan hasn't met them yet." Ryan then came back with hard data to back his claim, but Adam was too modest to accept. "I think he fabricated his data to make me feel better about the whole situation," Adam commented. "We've been friends for years and with his affable personality, he never did anything to invoke rage on my end." Shortly after this brief quarrel, Adam removed himself from the project.

Ethan Fria - Composer

Live, Laugh, Love, Laugh, Live, Love, Laugh, Live, Live.

Jordan Manglona - Composer/Actor

Jordan is a multifaceted artist-- He acts, he's a musician, he's an illustrator and an animator.  But he won't take pictures of his feet.  So stop asking.

Travis Lands - Actor/Gaffer

Travis is great at putting lights in places, putting himself in places, and putting in reservations for restaurants.

Myles Linzey - Actor

Myles is a great backseat talent. He really knows how to sit back, listen to some tunes, and enjoy the ride as shenanigans unfold in the front seat.
